2 Qs- Time before transfer and going to Austin CC if living OOS

Q1. My friend didn't get into UT and I did. If he decides to go to a UC or other college (we live in California) how long would he have to go there before being able to transfer? I know it is based on hours, credits, etc. but what is the average time before transfer- 1 year, 2 years, etc?

Q2. Is it possible for my friend to move to Austin and go to Austin CC and transfer over? I was surfing the net and found this : Welcome to the Austin Private Dormitory Association

It says that they provide dorms for UT and ACC. Does this mean one building for all schools, and could the two of us room together and go to different schools?

You must have 30 transferable hours. Typically that would be one year.

jetski,

look at my other post on your thread. I gave you answer. You can be roommates at University Towers. 95% percent UT students. Some ACC students. It is a private dorm.

You need a minimum of 30 hours to transfer. He can start taking classes this summer at Ca. CC. Then go to ACC in the fall. If he takes two classes this summer, and only takes 4 classes each ACC semester, he would have a lighter load, have more time to do well, and have a better GPA. He will need to be above a 3.5 to transfer. Check transfer threads for better indication of what is needed. 95% percent UT students. Some ACC students.
