1) is it looked down upon by top colleges to take a class online: does it devalue the class?

2) what is the most prestigious and most highly looked upon of the online course offerings ie. EPGY, FLVS, various states' virtual high schools, Virtual High School, National University High School, K12?

Well....IMO online courses and universities do not carry as much prestige as a traditional brick and mortar institution. If you must go with online classes try to do it with a prestigious a university name as you can get.

I think the poster is talking about high school classes since those places listed are for high school. And I would think that the courses would be thought of as pretty much the same - if not even better since it is harder for most high school students to keep up with online classes (they require self dicipline). Curriculum is pretty much the same especially with state institutions.

If you need to take an online course in high school, pick one that is relatively easy to study on your own. I know many schools are pushing online courses but you lose the one on one/face to face with instructors and class interaction.

Sorry to intrude but, as raffles mentioned, I'm also trying to look for an easy but educational online courses. So my question is: do you guys have any online courses that I can use? cheaper the better!

Stanford University's EPGY is considered to be top notch. It is not
a cake walk to get A's in these and require an order of magnitude
work to get through. Caltech, Pton, MIT and Stanford all view these
courses (specifically the Math and Physics) favorably.... but then again
they are going to view any time spent on your own initiative burrowing into
new academic areas as a positive....so I am not sure how much taking a
formal course helps...

Depending on the institutions Adcoms may react positively or negatively
to additional coursework (versus additional time spent becoming one of
those idiot leaders of some political club)....me I did EPGY for the sheer
pain ------ it inflicts and the joy :) of placing out of certain junior
year courses at school.....
