Hey everyone, my ? wasn't getting answered in the other thread, and now I have another one...

When adding funds to a Husky card, it says to put in the amount, but what happens after that? Will it give me the option to choose what credit card or whatever to use? Or do they already have one on file that they'll be charging?

Do I have to completely move out between semesters? I heard somewhere that I would have to, but then I also heard that that doesn't apply to freshmen.

Acutally that’s not true. Freshmen are required to move out after fall finals and can only come back a few days before the spring semester starts. They have to leave the day after their last final or like 7pm the last day of finals, whichever comes first. If you have a problem with that (flights, parents can’t drive you, etc) send an email to your RD as soon as possible. For instance, I came back a day early because it was much cheaper flight from Florida.

Upperclassmen (not freshmen) are allowed to stay the entire break, leave when they want, and come back when they want IF they are living in the same place in the spring. For people living somewhere else, they go through the formal move-out procedures that people do in the spring, but I’m not sure when that has to be done.

These were the rules as of last year. I know the upperclassmen rule is still true this year (I literally just asked my RD about it), and I figure the freshmen rule won’t have changed. The idea is to make you go home and visit your parents and take some time off, I suppose. Double check by sending a message or stopping by to visit your RD. Questions like this are what they are there for.

Let me clarify my second question… do we have to move all of our stuff out? I heard from somewhere that we would, but that just doesn’t make sense.

Nope. Unless you are living in a different place next semester (like after spring semester or for some upperclassmen after fall), you can leave all your stuff. The freshmen dorms will be closed to students. I’d advise bringing home uber valuables though, for obvious reasons.

Thanks for the answer And yeah, I was planning on doing that anyways… my roommate from Cali was just a bit concerned about the possibility of having to completely move out lol

I emailed housing about winter break housing and they said that since I paid deposit for Spring 2010 housing, I can stay in the dorms without any additional charges. I’m in IV btw.
