<li><p>How can you write about confidence being an important part of your identity without sounding too cocky?</p></li>
<li><p>Is it really bad to write about something that has influenced your life that makes you come off as materialistic, i.e. designer sunglasses or jeans? I’ve shown my essay to a few people and they said it was well written, but they couldnt get past the fact that the topic was what it was. Basically, they told me that an essay about this topic would make admission officers think i was a joke.</p></li>

<p>1.There’s a difference between confidence and cocky/over-confidence. As long as you’re not showing an instance that displays the latter, I think you’re fine.</p>

<li>A topic such as that alone isn’t a bad thing. Most (though by no means all) people our age want such things. But if the people who read it couldn’t get past the topic, that’s not a good sign. Did you make it sound like that’s all you care about?</li>
