Hey y’all I have a couple questions regarding the application process for Rice:

I got a 2040 SAT and a 30 ACT. Should I submit one over the other, or submit both? I am probably going to take the ACT once more (with a calculator this time hehe) and try to get a 32, but if I don’t, is one score looking better than another?

I submitted Part I of the application already, but I just changed my mind and want to pursue AFROTC perhaps. I didn’t check that little box on the application. Will I have another chance to do that?

Thank you all for being such a help here, and I hope to be able to go to school with some of you in Fall '06!!

hrmm, i dont know about the first question (mainly b/c i dont know how the new score system works) but i might be able to answer the second question..

well, when i applied for rice (ED) i didn't think i was going to do NROTC either so i didn't check the box in part 1 of the application. But by the time i got part 2, i had gotten the nrotc scholarship and was seriously considering it... i wrote one of my essays about it but i don't remember if i firmly told them that i was doing nrotc or not... i know my regional nrotc guy contacted rice when i got the scholarship and i received some materials that told me to confirm.
haha what i'm trying to say is, i guess you'll be fine. you can always just write and email to the finaid people to tell them what's going on...
