This is random, but yet useless at this point in time.

I was wondering if you're 90% one race and 10% another, should you put both races down in your application? Will this help or hurt you?

I was wondering if you're 90% one race and 10% another, should you put both races down in your application? Will this help or hurt you?

I would say if the percentage of one race is that large, then you should just put down that one because all of us have at least a small percentage of another race in us.

it's the race you identify yourself as in daily life

Exactly as bearcats said. If you are bi-racial, what race you are has to be a personal decision; people on a forum cannot tell you what to put.

Okay, thanks.

im asian and white put both cant hurt maybe better chances

Well, I was just wondering. I suppose my second race isn't of a high enough percentage.

I am 85% Irish & 15% Native American.

I don't look Native American AT ALL so I think the admission people would question it.

I think you should put that you're biracial, but indicate the percentages. Native Americans are the the most underrepresented minority, so it might increase your chances.

if you put native american, your chance goes up by at least 3 times..but the more important thing is, do you identify yourself as native american in your daily life? What's more important to you, integrity or admission?

integrity...

My mom told me that I can't put that down because it's only 15% and I don't look Native American at all, the AdCom would probably question this.

If you had the proper papers to back it up, I'm sure it would be fine.

There are rules for this. Generally Native American background means that you have an established, documented, tribal affiliation. There are millions of Americans, black and white, who have a bit of native background, but this fact has absolutely no bearing on their lives and does not count.

may i ask what tribe?
