Give 4A to two teachers, that's all you need if going for a BA degree.
In addition, give 4B to one science or math teacher if you are applying to PLME or a BS degree.

I see what you're talking about now, and I agree, they say (or imply) three different things depending on whether you're looking at: 1) the actual application; 2) information about applying on their website; or 3) their PDF about how to fill out the application:

The later is the one I referred to for my earlier answer. The website is obviously wrong since (as you noted) there's no form 4C. So the question is, to you need 2 teachers plus a science/math or just 1 teacher plus a science/math? I think it's going to take a phone call or e-mail to the admissions office to resolve. My D needs to know too as she possibly plans on doing a BS.

You should check with the admissions office just to be sure (and come back and let us know!) but I think two rec's are required of all applicants - 2 teachers of any core subject for a BA; one math or science teacher and one teacher of any other core subject for a BS. That's the impression I got.

Note: Form 4B should be completed by a teacher of Science or Mathematics if you have indicated a preference for the ScB degree or if you are applying to the Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME).

blitz, I called Brown admissions this morning, they only require 2 teacher recommendations total. However, if you are applying for PLME or a BS degree, one of the two has to be from a math/science teacher. Yeah :)
