2 Weeks, 6hrs./day: 2090---->2350

The official online Course from CollegeBoard is worth it! Definitely make use of it!

Yes I will pay the 70 dollars unless if anyone is willing to donate the official course code to me. lol guess I will register after summer vacations begins.

@princetondreams: did you get that amazing 2320 senior year or junior year what where differences in your two breakdown scores. Also did you get my pm (private message)?

Yep, just replied.
My breakdown was 650, 730, 690 and 780, 780, 760.
I just took it in Jan so I guess it was my senior year (different system).?

^ just for motivation , did you get into Princeton ? thats an amazing improvement.

hopefully i can also bring my expected june 10 SAT score of 2100+ to a 2250-2300

Haha, not yet. I’ll be applying this spring! :D

It’s very possible to improve. Just practice everyday!

Yey an epic montage.

I just need to study more grammar rules and improve my writing score a little bit, but I’m perfectly fine with what I got.

Thank you guys, this thread is absolutely helpfull. So what I got are ‘redo tests’ and ‘time myself strictly’.

But I dont think I can pay $70 for the online course. Can Princeton Preview cover it?
Btw, what is ‘QAS’? :-s

Ok, this is exactly what this thread needs. So, can we compile the dream study plan that is 3 weeks long for the SAT? Assume that all scorers are from 2000-2100 (most here are that that range and looking for the extra boost).

What is the ultimate dream study plan that you 2250+ scorers can compile? A plan for every section, Math, CR, and W (and essay) would be ideal. Also, what are the things to do other than tests because I would guess that the typical advice would be to write a practice test per day for 3 weeks, but what else in a day can we do?

Practice test + reviewing very carefully time: 10am-2:00pm (or later or earlier depending on the person and if this is with limited time, unlimited time, or reg. time)
continue this schedule…

^ I’m gonna start right after school finishes, but will also at the samt time have to spend a great deal of time on college essays and reserach etc. Hopefully it balances out.

I think we can potentially already score a 2250-2300+ but simply havent had a great deal of luck lol.

^I need to do the same. School ends here in a couple weeks and I can’t do anything until exams are done because I have so many projects, tests, term papers, etc.

I also need to prep for SAT IIs, ACT (I wanna take,…i really like the format…time is the issue though, and I want to start on some essay or at least get good topic ideas. I aslo need to research as well and start planning to pay for it all with my parents. Being an international, I am expected to have higher scores. I mean, if I were a US resident, I’d just make sure I had 2250 and get it over with and write beast essays…I don’t have that luxury because I am competing with essentially all the brightest of my country for 30 spots max. at Ivies

Math: Gruber’s
CR: Rocket Review
W (including essay): Rocket Review

What I would do is assign different subjects for different days of the week. For example
Mon: CR
Tues: M
Wed: W
Thurs: CR
Fri: M

You can obviously tailor this to suit your weaknesses and strengths. Each day, I would read the corresponding material in the prep book (say 15 pages). I would then take a practice section (yes, just a section) and try to implement the strategies I just learned that day. I would then review my mistakes thoroughly, posting on CC as needed. This requires only 1-2 hours a day.

Saturday I would take a full practice test under real conditions, scoring it in the evening. Sunday I would review that test, understanding every question 100%.

This is a basic outline of the plan, but if you have any questions you can ask. It worked for me. I scored above 2300 last year.

Can anyone give their opinion of PR 11 Practice tests? good or not for practice?

Anyone know how the Kaplan 12 Practice Tests (2008 Edition) are? I got the book for free, are they similar enough in difficult and format as the BB to be helpful?

Jamesford, when you say Gruber’s and Rocket Review you are referring to the complete SAT Books right? (not the workbooks?)

QAS = Question and Answer Service

Basically, you pay CB for them to give you a real, administered SAT with answers.

practice tests, practice tests. You know what you need to know. If you want to read more then just read vocab words until your brain hurts. but other than that just practice practice practice.

@Viggy: Taking PR’s practice tests will be a waste of time. Unless you have COMPLETELY exhausted all official practice tests (and that can take quite a while, considering that you need to spend more time analyzing your questions than actually solving them in addition to testing new strategies etc etc), you don’t really need any other simulated practice test. Basically, those questions will not be on your test, so you end up learning nothing.

I’d actually recommend Barron’s 2400 (to learn strategies for the toughest questions) or a workbook in case you REALLY feel you need additional practice.

Hey when you guys refer to Rocket Review you mean the whole ~60 dollar book on Amazon right? There’s not just a specific book for CR? I have to buy the whole book if I only want the CR section of it?

On May SAT I got 800 M 800 W and 620 CR. That’s why I’m asking.

bump it up

anyone wanna add extra tips/change/add more stuff to jamesford’s plan?

I’m gonna start right after June 25th. Wanna give myself some time to myself to relax etc.
