2 weeks in counting...

did not get email about wizard of oz
What are other applicant's stats? (all early EDs?)
Also WHEN are we finding out?!??! TOMORROW AT 5 OR thurs at 5??

ppl are saying that its tomorrow at 5, i dunno i guess they post ED decisions 1 day ahead

lets all calm down.

if we work ourselves up right now its gonna be bad tomorrow.

not that we should not all think positive about our admissions decision, but either way, we really cannot control what happens and the decision has already been made so why worry so much?

good luck to everyone. i hope everyone gets in and then we can all be friends next year and laugh at how retarded we were going on here stressing forever about it.

hahaha.

once again, good luck =)

<3 Dani

hahah wow i love you

ok, i have received no e-mails... no 'no place like home e-mails', no 'the decision will be posted'... what's up with some people getting e-mails and others not? tuba guy is so right--post some stats so we can figure it out.

but i am not going to stress out over that.

i'm just trying to figure out this whole TOMORROW/thursday thing. tomorrow. i mean, that's tomorrow, wednesday, nov. 30th...i'm not gonna get my hopes up though. i'm just going to keep counting on finding out on thursday.

i hope everybody here gets in...and that we all go to uva...and that everything is perfectly lovely.

I got the email...
in-state
ranked 1/243
2010
4.2 W
good ec's, etc.

agreed with everyone getting in!!!

Last push everyone...hang on. We're all getting in, I know it.

How does it feel to know that decisions have been made on your applications?

oh man it feels weird

didn't get the e-mail

3/183
4.125 W
2080

athlete, volunteer work, choir, clubs, good ec's

*oh, and i'm in-state

and i hope everyone gets in....and i agree, it feels very very odd to kno that my future has already been determined. very odd.

The email posted by jmlbrads as saying it will be posted tomorrow(wed) appears to be a response to his email to them. I don't think there was a general email informing people of when ED will be posted. The wizard-of-oz email apparently was sent to some people but not to others.

Don't really think it'll help but: didn't get oz email
2220 SAT, 4.05 gpa, 8/570, solid ec's

yea i think ur about jmlbrads email

chip--ur sat rocks. i'm impressed.

i used to get emails JUST LIKE OZ. During the summer and before the online application opened up, i would get random stuff about blue skies, UVA football/nobel prize, wishing me a great senior year.....stuff like that. I was on the mailing list. I think the issue at hand is just that: its a mailing list. If some applicants applied before a certain date, from a certain state, or another random variable, they might not have been taken off the mailing list. The oz email appears to be just that. There doesnt seem to be a pattern between the few ppl that posted their stats on this thread. Its not unique to in state/outta state, and a person on another thread recieved the email and HE DIDNT EVEN APPLY.
Its just a random computer mailing. All systems have that. Dont worry about a thing. And yes, that would be so cool if all of us get in. We are gonna have to have some sorta meeting party for all of us who get in
(hopefully). But come on, lets have some faith here. ED isnt a death sentence. Superstar students dont apply for it. Just smile, be happy, and enjoy these precious days that we can never get back. Senior year means something to a lot of people, and 10 years from now i dont wanna regret now enjoying one day of it by worrying about what some college thinks of me. If i get in, GREAT, if not, its not gonna define me and its not gonna set me back. School is school. What ever happened to those elementary days when we dreaded waking up in the morning to go to school bc of the stupid teachers or the fat bullies or the general dull nature of it all? Our 10 year old versions would be laughing at us now, not enjoying life over SCHOOL. In the mean time, go flirt with some hot freshman, play some football, or go to a club- something that nerdy kids wont do. Make your inner 10-year-old proud. At least until this ordeal is over ;) Best of luck to all.

I completely agree with you guys...what will be, will be! But...it's still quite nervewracking, but we all know that. Anyways, BEST luck to everyone of you all and let's all hope its tomorrow...
P.s. The whole Oz thing is too weird to figure out...
ah :)

I love you Tuba Guy! lol.

Didn't get the email...

stats:
In-state
11/214
4.0 GPA 7 APs; tons on DE
SATs 2300
Extracurricular: Outstanding (started a project that completely funded the rebuilding of a war-destroyed school in Africa, in a college ballet company, editor of newspaper/work for local newspaper)
Essays: "beautiful/moving" John Blackburn, the admissions dean, sent me a postcard saying it "was a pleasure to read my application" and thanked me for applying.
Insane recommendations

I really think it was just a random thing. We'll see after 5 tomorrow.

didnt get email

2340/800/740
2/200
4.5 gpa

out of state

wow. that's insane. you people slightly disgust me haha...i'm kidding, congrats. westbeach, um, wow.

tuba guy-u rock my world. very insightful. i agree, we shouldn't waste away high school because it is crazy and kinda fun and mostly dramatic, but.... but the next couple of days, my mind is entirely uva's.

are any transfer applicants here?
