Hi I’m going to be a Junior this fall and I am extremely conflicted about taking French 4H next year, which leads into French 5 AP.
I took French 2 as a freshman and am taking French 3 right now as a sophomore. I really don’t enjoy the subject and would drown taking it two more years…
The thing is that I’m already bilingual and speak fluent Korean. I am most likely going to take the SAT subject test. Would this ‘make-up’ my foreign language in anyway?
But this is my biggest concern…
I really want to go to Boston College and other top schools. I’ve checked the websites and they said that they recommend/recquire 4 Years of Foreign language.
If I stop taking French, will they automatically pull me out of the applicant pool since I didn’t fill their recquirements? Even if they don’t… will it still make me a weak applicant? I am planning on taking AP Bio/ AP Psychology next year in place of French. If I do relatively well on either of these classes, will this at least make it seem like I did try and was a strong student? (Also I am planning on majoring in bio>pre-med track)
I really don’t enjoy it but if it will ruin my chances in anyway, I will take it just for college.
