lol SATs...eh good luck guys/girls.

by the way, nj IS NOT the crappiest place <referring to cujoe

I live in NJ :)

by the way, who's merc? ben

NJ is pretty nice in some areas, and not in other areas. Yes, the stereotypical skyline of NJ hold true for the Newark/Harrison/Kearny area...but it's quite nice in NW NJ. I, for the most part, have enjoyed living and growing up here.

oh yes...there are good and bad parts...but I was referring to where I've grown up (sorry forgot to mention that)

i live in monmouth county so yeah go figure lol

eh eh... monmouth... that's a pretty affluent area, of course it's nice...

nj sucks!!! it exports 1/3 of the worlds eggplant AND has the worlds purest street heroin AND it has the US' most dangerous city... i.e. camden

mercurysquad :-)

Ben - more relaxed now that you're done with the EA apps? When do you guys start reading RD?

are you guys laughing that we're flipping out? cuz if i were an admissions officer i'd be laughing... haha, i'm sure you guys aren't, i'm just a horrible person

Cujoe - if you're flipping out about your letter now...think about this.

Ben Jones, sitting at his computer over at MIT right now, browsing these forums, could tell you if you were in or not. He knows. You don't.

oh... ben... stop messing with my head!!!!!

lol, nah i'm good, but seriously, this week is gonna be bad... i can tell...

It's gonna be bad because I have 6 tests. 1 in all six of my classes (one of which is a 3 hour math final). This is gonna be a fun week.

6? i get my history dbq back... i have a 'fysiks' test inside joke... oy

Here's the question - how much does MIT spend on stamps/year?

Ugh. I have to finish my USC app. By tommorow. How am I going to do that with all this MIT excitement (agony?) ?

Spartan you're killing me... I haven't been this apprehensive in years... I swear, if I PM Bjones (hows that nickname work for ya?) and ask him my decision, it's your fault! :D

If I knew who any of you actually were in real life, I could look up your decision, yes. :-) But the truth is, for most of you I don't know, and I don't want to know. I did look up the cases on which I was the first reader, but beyond that, I couldn't bring myself to look.

Spartan - we start reading RA apps right after the Jan 1 deadline. Oh, and I'm not sure about the postage bill, but it's a lot. Probably tens of thousands when you count the viewbooks and applications and all the rest.

Cujoe - Am I laughing because you're flipping out? Not at all - I applied early to my college (not MIT - I wasn't the most talented math/science kid) and remember exactly what this feels like.

lol ben, i know you're not laughing, but a sadistic admissions officer would be... or at least i imagine... can you estimate how many of us you could tell were... well us when you read them? i imagine very few...

Honestly only those who have shared their real names in the forum. I sortof like not knowing who people are - I think it gives people the freedom to express themselves without worrying how it's going to affect their applications. Our presence here and on the blogs is to help students, not use stuff against them. People often don't believe me when I say that, so if they stay anonymous they don't have to believe me and the purpose is still served. If that makes sense. :-)

tetrahedr0n-
haha... me too. USC for tomorrow and Stanford by the 15th. I'm almost done though... The optional essay I wrote for MIT answers the USC essay (the passion one) almost without modification.

And then stanford. Hrm.. I should really go take that picture now ;-). I wonder how many people wrote their essay without having the actual picture yet. I knew what it was going to be, but I've just been too lazy to go set it up and take it.

Ah well... this'll be a good distraction from refreshing cc/myMIT

-Oren

lol hi ben, my name is Merudh

idk if you rmbr but i met you in that NJ info session. Anyway have fun this weekend...while we wait in anxiety for our decisions.
