Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984 for leading the nonviolent movement against apartheid in South Africa, will deliver the 2006 commencement address at the College of William and Mary on May 14, 2006. In addition, William and Mary Chancellor and retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day OConnor will deliver remarks to the Class of 2006

Ok, I want to hear these speakers - can I pretend to be a 2006 graduate?

I didn't go to graduation, but I would have considered it if the speaker was Desmond Tutu instead of Timmy S.

AHH! Just to add to the perceived ridiculousness of my deferral:

My optional essay was an article i wrote for my church diocesan newspaper, The Jamestown Cross, which is based in Williamsburg at Bruton Parish, about how American Episcopalians should take a page from Archbishop Tutu's book.

Can anything else happen that would make it more ridiculous that I got deferred? Yikes...
