wait, the receptionist said that they had already started sending out decisions?

The guy on the phone today that a batch has already been mailed. It's totally possible that those of us here on the board just aren't in that group. I'm assuming some of us will know on Thursday.

email notifications would accompany a mailing i assume, correct? do you think they hold off for a day or two so you don't get your email before your letter? i don't know why they have both...

p44, i'd think that's true. a friend of mine that applied last year received the email and admissions letter (in the mail) on the same day.

oooh, that's interesting... if a batch just went out then they will most likely meet the thursday deadline everyone's been talking about.

do they send rejection letters as well by mail....in the first batch?

The admissions office didn't lie. They already released the first batch on May 1, because a friend of mine, also applying to Penn from my school got rejected and I still haven't found out. So, I guess be grateful we didn't get the bad news. Good luck everyone. This week is a big week for all of us.

perhaps the auto-rejects, so to speak, got their rejection, but those who are in a better situation got the log-in ID and password... could hold well for us.

augie93, all applicants receive a log-in ID and password.

and danman, your friend already got rejected from penn? are you serious?

so if a batch of decisions went out may 1st, why hasnt anyone on CC said anything/posted decisions?

Because not everyone who has applied for transfer is on CC...

In spite of the suspense this is actually pretty fun, for me at least. I look forward to seeing what happens on Thursday, good luck to you all.

Did a batch of rejections go out or no?

it's weird because a few members of cc have called the admissions office earlier and have been told by them that decisions would begin to get released on the 11th.

and now it seems to be that decisions have been released already? i'm confused.

Admissions officers lying? Holy Crap Batman!

if only rejections were released on may 1st, i'll be VERY satisfied and content.

Many of us got those green cards saying that we were missing some documents. So I'm sure there are still plenty of rejections to come.

Seems like an anomaly if only one poster's classmate got a rejection, and I am not doubting the poster who claimed that, but people act weird when they are competing for something- so maybe the student who claimed to have been rejected had a reason for saving embarrassment when actual decisions come. It just seems weird that they claimed for a while that the first batch would be released on the 11th, that no one here has heard anything and that Penn would have a reason to rush out a rejection letter. I wouldn't take it to mean anything. As for me, they sent out a green postcard on the 26th for a missing rec, and sent me a letter with my pin on the 3rd.

does anyone REALLY know what's going on?

Aubstopper, this website is not for the sharing of actual information. Rather, it exists for people to share contradicting speculation that, at best, causes anxiety and trepidation.
