I hope you get in to Columbia though. You seem funny and friends would be kinda cool at Columbia, haha.

i'm an engineering student,
and the only reason I did not apply to Columbia
is because I heard that they require you take too many English courses, which I abhor~
are they being lenient this year?

Last year decisions started going out on the second friday, so maybe it will be the same this time. A lot of people also heard on the 18th. This is torture, I hope it all works out in the end.

Timberland I love how you know what happened last year, how do you know this though?

I don't think that's true about Columbia. You take University Writing (which you can petition out of) and some liberal arts courses.

Click search, then type in "Penn Decisions" in the transfer forum and you'll come across last years thread.

don't be sure if you're not really sure...
you may assume... or hope...
like I do...

hmmmm... why do some people here remind me of the story "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" with the times... 5pm, 7pm, 9pm, 12am, etc.... and that they're sure the decision is coming out today...
or is it the lazy Admissions Office that's telling us untrue facts?

The Boy Who Cried Wolf

There once was a shepherd boy who was bored as he sat on the hillside watching the village sheep. To amuse himself he took a great breath and sang out, "Wolf! Wolf! The Wolf is chasing the sheep!"

The villagers came running up the hill to help the boy drive the wolf away. But when they arrived at the top of the hill, they found no wolf. The boy laughed at the sight of their angry faces.

"Don't cry 'wolf', shepherd boy," said the villagers, "when there's no wolf!" They went grumbling back down the hill.

Later, the boy sang out again, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is chasing the sheep!" To his naughty delight, he watched the villagers run up the hill to help him drive the wolf away.

When the villagers saw no wolf they sternly said, "Save your frightened song for when there is really something wrong! Don't cry 'wolf' when there is NO wolf!"

But the boy just grinned and watched them go grumbling down the hill once more.

Later, he saw a REAL wolf prowling about his flock. Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, "Wolf! Wolf!"

But the villagers thought he was trying to fool them again, and so they didn't come.

At sunset, everyone wondered why the shepherd boy hadn't returned to the village with their sheep. They went up the hill to find the boy. They found him weeping.

"There really was a wolf here! The flock has scattered! I cried out, "Wolf!" Why didn't you come?"

An old man tried to comfort the boy as they walked back to the village.

"We'll help you look for the lost sheep in the morning," he said, putting his arm around the youth, "Nobody believes a liar...even when he is telling the truth!"

why did penn keep saying it was coming out today, they are pulling the 'chicago' even though i am fully proud to be admitted to such a fine school

bball, did you get into duke

timberland, I HAVE NOT HEARD, honest to-g-d, and i called Duke today, and i was told that decisions are expected to be made by end of next week, and the lady seemed surprised when i said "my friends" heard already, my friends, being CC ppl, she said

from what we have seen, everyone so far has been rejected, except for one engineering student, so maybe, i am hopefully assuming that they are rejectin kids first and narrowing down the pool, i think, i will prob get a waitlist

so far, i ahve gotten into Rice (with a verrrry encouraing phone call from a senior dean of admissions, enticing me to come), U of Chicago, and a, sad, sad, i repeat, depressing waitlist from Columbia

i am really hoping upenn comes in

hey bball, have you sent deposits to any of schools you got accepted like rice or chicago?
