cs1688, I had observed the three-week space between the first and last batches as a virtual waitlist as well. However, I think your stance on the middle batch is misleading. "Most" applicants will be in that group, but most admitted students have already been admitted in the first batch.

~ Ha, if the information offered by Sodfather is accurate, then the left will be all rejected. Hope the above statement is only a hypothesis!! =(

sodfather, i think ur wrong...but we will see, plenty of ppl heard last year, after the 15th, a bunch got in....

I think it is a waste of time trying to guess! Just wait and see!

I can't find last year's decisions by searching. Link?

luckycharms44, how did you get accepted into villanova already? i thought they start notifying transfer students after june 1st? -_-

I sent my app in a while ago like jan/feb and called to see what was up and then like 2 weeks later i got the acceptance, i didn't get housing though but i got alot of money, i don't think i'll be accepting

ooooh okay. thanks for the info. if i don't get into penn, i'll most likely end up at villanova if i were to be accepted.

we'll see what happens come friday

good luck to all.

i think that kids from pennsylvania have a better chance of getting in, have you seen the amount accepted from there? but maybe its just that more apply from the state of pennsylvania.

yes, more apply from the state of pennsylvania, along with new jersey.

Is Wharton the most selective department at Penn?

Adding onto coolant's question, what is the acceptance rate for Wharton?

Is the Penn admission conditional?

The acceptance letter mentions that they expect to see you maintain your current "high level of academic achievment" and you have to send them your final grades so techincally, yes.

Although, I think that as long as you have above a 3.5-ish, or your grades are essentially on par with your midterm report, it'll be fine.

I know I'll be getting a B or a B+ in Econ this semester (boo, should have just dropped the class and not taken the GPA hit!), which was on my midterm report. While that grade will be well below my other grades and will probably make my gpa this semester between a 3.7 or a 3.8, I don't think Penn will care.

ALSO - For the whole Philadelphia thing - I think that being from Philly/PA/NJ helps only in that a number of feeder high schools are in that area, which makes them more familiar with a rigorous high school (in my case). I would assume there may be a "feeder college" effect as well, not in that they take a particularly high percentage of students from a select number of surrounding colleges, but in that they receive more applicants from those colleges and resultantly, end up with more students accepted from the region.

My brother and I are accepted to the College

did you just find out?

you AND your brother? wow..

these vague posts...are you twins, did you just hear?
