yeah, same reasons...I want to be immersed in a challenging environment with passionate peers...want to be fairly close to home...strong english and business programs

cool, did ya consider stanford? (didnt apply)

Yea, that is so ture. It semmed like that students at Penn State is never motivated in challenging themselves in the academic area. However, when I comes to party. Everyone semmed to have endless energy! Sad~ :(

Nop, they didn't have my major. I am going for accounting and management. I will consider Stanford for my MBA degree.

lol, I know what you mean :)...well, I'm calling it a nite...best of luck, coolant, youve got amazing scores & decisions can be so baffling with rejections at lower schools and acceptances at ives, so ya never know...try not to think about it, though, cuz soon enough decisions'll come (easier said than done, rite :) )...nite

thanks for the encourgement. Best of wishes to you too! :)

km86, that's ridiculous!

rejected.

got the letter in the mail this morning. it was postmarked the 19th, which is yesterday.
i will go sulk now. good luck everyone. and if you are to be accepted, you should really consider attending. it's an amazing school.

forgiven where do you live?

new jersey

the rest of you will probably get your letters on monday or tuesday, depending on where you live. i live basically 25 mins driving distance from penn.

forgiven care to share your stats and the school you applied to?

didn't expect to get in i guess, but wanted to give it a try at least.

hs gpa: below 3.0 -- didn't study AT ALL, seriously. got rejected from every single college i applied to, but i graduated in 2003 and that's quite a long time ago.

sat scores: way below average. once again, didn't study at all.

college gpa: took a year off after hs and worked full-time, went to a cc for a year and got a 3.8 for the year, transferred to rutgers and got a 3.875 first semester and 3.8 mid-term. finished this year with a 3.833.

i guess i was hoping to get in because i am not your 'traditional' student, but i guess my abysmal high school records will always haunt me. it just sucks because i honestly did not care at all about high school. if i put in as much effort into HS as i am now, i should definitely be attending a top school right now. i guess i'll see you all in grad school or something.

i applied to SAS as an econ major and as an incoming sophomore, but my interests lie solely in business. i'm still waiting to hear back from nyu-stern and umich-ross, but i'm not counting on getting in. most people heard back from stern already and ross takes like 15-20 people a year. oh well. i'm hoping to get into villanova also. if not, i'll just graduate from rutgers-new brunswick and hopefully graduate with honors.

Rejected but got a little note in my letter telling me how my admission officer enjoyed my application and enjoyed my essay :D I live in philadelphia... NYU IT IS!!!!!! best of luck !!!!! this will be my last post on the site most likely.

3.5 cumulative GPA at PSU Main Campus
applied as a sophomore to CAS as a Psych Major
1210 SAT score
great rec's and essays
Philadelphia advantage didn't even help but I am so happy

forgiven, rutgers isn't a bad school. It is also a highly regarded university! Good luck.
Stern is tough!!! I got rejected from Stern already sad.

Stat: HS GPA: 4.00 SAT 1: Verbal 750 Math 780 College GPA: 1st semester 3.9 2nd semester 4.0

i heard by post by the way

Luckycharms44, when did you get the decision?

coolant, how in the world did you get rejected from stern with those stats?!

no clue. I am so frustrated. This is the second time they reject me! What is a typical "sternie" student?

So sad, luckycharms got into NYU with a 3.5!!!!!! :(
