Layla,
Even though I submitted an e-mail address, I still got a letter in the mail. This goes for my brother as well.

gosh!!! I got rejected!!!
they posted it on-line!!!

Dear ___,

After thoroughly reviewing your application, the Selection Committee has been unable to approve your request for admission to the University of Pennsylvania for the transfer class entering in September 2006.

Our selection process while necessarily formal is essentially highly personal. The application was designed to gather information about you. The admissions officer who read it highlighted the uniqueness and strength of your credentials and the final review before our committee of faculty and admissions officers was a search for the qualities that would best serve the University community and the educational offerings available here.

In making admissions decisions, there are no fixed or arbitrarily chosen standards by which to measure an individual application. The only real standard we have is our knowledge of the size and academic quality of the applicant pool and our knowledge of the special talents applicants might bring to the University. Therefore, all aspects of your application, the academic and non-academic, were judged in comparison to the other candidates. We are confident that most of our applicants are more than qualified to successfully pursue a program of study at Penn. Only a relatively small percentage of these candidates, however, can be chosen. We are sorry that we were unable to offer you admission, but I hope I have been able to clarify our admissions process. While I imagine that this decision is a difficult one for you, please understand that all decisions of the committee are final.

Thank you for considering Penn and best wishes for the years ahead.

Sincerely,

Willis J. Stetson, Jr.
Dean of Admissions

Same here, I checked online a few mins ago and found out that I WAS REJECTED. However, the decision was dated May 11, 2006. Nevertheless, why wasn't it posted until today. By the way, I never got an e-mail alert that my decison was ready! Gees =(

That's what one of my professors said. I don't understand him because I'm trying to transfer out of a crappy state school to a prestigious Ivy. Dunno what his deal was.

coolant, I am sorry to hear about your rejection, but I am happy to hear that some damn answers have been posted. Mine still hasn't, though.

PUCK FENN

y17k....ru going to cornell....if u dont get into upenn???

has ANYONE ONLINE GOTTEN AN ACCEPTANCE THIS MORNING???

i'm so daunted.....
well.. good luck everyone.....

DENIED

I think that I have to thank Penn though. Throughout this tiring and gruesome process I have kind of grown apart from the school and I guess the hatred caused by the delayed decisions is why I am more relieved than anything else. Uncertainty is a hell and according to that statement I am slowly stepping out of it as I now have a clearer vision of next year. Penn would have been nice but I never really thought I had a shot so its all good. Good luck to all of you that have yet to hear and congrats to all that were accepted.

Wow Im usually not this positive.

I will however cry when I am rejected from Chicago.

sorry jacknjill...if upenn will accept me, i will immediately withdraw from u of chicago, like today.....

for the people that didn't hear yet, u should be somewhat satisfied. it seems like everybody who has heard back in the 2nd batch was rejected so far.

i am not satisfied at all, this is ridiculous, this is worst than u of chicago....at least, i was like one of the first to be told in the EA batch....and this is just going on and on and on and on and on and on and on....u get the picture
