2006 Indoc

I have been reading all the postings since stumbling across this site in the New England Parents Assoc. site. It has been very comforting reading all the postings. My son is the sole representative this year from Montana so I don't have anyone to talk to around here. We do have another boy from here going to the Air Force Academy but things are done so differently there, its hard to relate the two other than they are both gone basically until Christmas. Two academy appointees from a school with around 75 kids from 9 - 12th grades is pretty good. Needless to say this is a huge change for everyone. We live in a small town (850 people) in SW Montana (about two hours from Yellowstone ParK) so humidity, sea level altitude (this is a plus for him) and more people then he has ever been around in his life is a totally new for him.
The pictures are so wonderful. My eyes are blood shot from pouring over them. My son is in 1st company (wonderful to hear about their nice rooms) and will be playing football. Any other football parents or players out there?

Welcome to the fold! It's become pretty clear that it doesn't matter where you're from, what you do, etc., once you hook up here, you're part of the KP family!

Thank you JRH

You can bet I will me reading the postings several times daily. It's so nice to know that what you are feeling is normal.

Well, I hear theres no rest for the weary. They've been marching again today. An observation my son had & told me to pass on to you all. He said that now that they are past the first few days, they won't be thinking about quitting so don't worry. He said that by now, they are so tired, that they aren't thinking anything. They just follow instruction like cattle and move on to the next thing. He said there are some really good D.I's this year & he says they are really getting good care. He also said to tell you the KP Indoc motto. "Yesterday was the hardest day at KP". If I hear any more, will post it. :)

You and son are great resources for the KP parents...great job! AND THE KID HAS A MEAN RIGHT JAB! HA HA :D

I have been sitting by the phone all day waiting on my son to call, then a friend told me about this message board and now I am reading that he can't call home until next Sunday! I have been waiting to hear about his experience since Thursday and now I have to wait 7 more days. This is going to be a long week.

KP2010mom - yeah - no kidding it's gonna be a long week. Hang out here with us.

If anyone here has the ability to pass a message along. Please tell whoever is taking photos of Indoc that they are doing a FABULOUS

Oops... end that sentence with the word "JOB."

they were probably just practicing about faces, cause that's what they're doing right now as we speak, about faces and right and left faces

I love you bvwhiteboy! Thanks soooo much for keeping us posted on what's going on. You are our connect to the inside ;).

Can we send packages to them during Indoc? Also, I read someplace if we send food, we must send enough for the entire company, is that true?

Yes, you can send packages during INDOC. Make sure you send enough to share. They mentioned Thursday that they become common property of the company. Checkout this store in Great Neck online. They have sent plenty of care packages before and they are right down the street. http://www.lazarschocolate.com/greatneck-directions.html

The picture page today has an apology from the first classman taking all the photos that he couldn't get to all the companies today. That guy should get some kind of reward from the 2010 parents.

Yes jamzmom. It's pretty weird. Met two other '81 classmates that also have sons in the class of 2010 on Thursday morning. My mom remembers waiting for the first phone call. I remember my throat was so sore I could hardly whisper. Next Sunday will be interesting.

What a great idea! I'd be more than willing to pitch in. Anyone else?

Lazars folks are fabulous. HINT: Don't use the web site to order. Just look at their goodies there then pick up the phone & call. You'll save on shipping charges. They hand deliver for a small fee to the academy, sometimes the same day. Any chocolate items are packed in their own ice pack so they won't melt. Prayerfulmom's son & my son have said it was THE best chocolate they've ever had. They have several types of candies including gummies, ect.

bvwhiteboy, keep looking in on them & reporting back when you can!

You guys are sooo lucky to get these wonderful photos. We had so many gliches in ours last year & days would go by with no new updates. This guy rocks!!

KPcheng81 - I can still hear that strange voice from my son. He was so wired & wanted to tell me everything all at once but kept having to stop to clear his throat. He sounded terrible! LOL

I'll pitch in.

I would be willing to pitch in also. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well I would really love to hear my sons voice and what he has to say but the pictures are truly priceless. Loved the waterfront ones.

No pictures yet today? Saturday they were ahead and posted morning pics, but none of yesterday yet and it's after 4 pm?
