2006 Plebe Parent Weekend

I admit my navigation through USMA’S web site was not successful. “I do
not know sir” “There is no excuse, sir”. Trying to be a forward thinker, I’d
like to make plans on this fall’s Plebe Parent Weekend. If a calendar hasn’t
been created with this info then perhaps parents from last years plebes can
tell me the dates of their weekend. I gotta make plans, you help is appreciated. You see I've already made you a yearling - always forward!

Rockymnt...sorry I don't have the answer to your question regarding parent weekend at USMA. However, I just wanted to extend my congratualtions to both you and your son on his appointment....:)

Rm last year's was Oct. 14-17 so figure around that time. Congrats to you and son!

And if you want reservations at the Thayer Hotel, you may want to consider calling to get on a wait list. That way as soon as the dates are announced they may be able to book you.

The Thayer is taking bookings for 13th, 14th and 15th October, even though the Sup. has not yet officially signed off on the dates for PPW.

Take a look at the football schedule. PPW will be based on that as it takes place on an away football weekend. Looks like either Oct 14 or 28, most likely the 14th. Based on that AND the Thayer taking reservations, it's probably a good bet.

Thank you all for your support; I knew you were a wealth of information! Arrangements can now be made - waiting to see other Plebe Parents.
I really enjoy reading these postings, what a wonderful forum.
Thank you again.

Brings to mind a John Denver song, Rocky Mountain High, Colorado!

And I learned the hard way...make your arrangements for PPW by being at West Point on Thursday night. That way you'll be able to take advantage of the Friday morning activities that are scheduled only that morning.

Thanks MOT - I would not have thought of that.

Ann,

We missed several tours by thinking that we could just fly out on Friday morning. You'll want to experience everything. Sure wish I could do it over again.

Yea Rocky Mountian High Colorado - snowing as we speak 15 degrees
suppose to last the next 4 -5 days! I do miss San Diego!!

Dang! We are warmer here in North Pole, Alaska! Can't often say that we have 20 degrees in February! Hope your cold snap is over soon, Rockymnt!:)
