Good luck everyone! Seriously though, 250 words is NOTHING. I forgot the deadline and had to do it the night before. Pumped it out in about two hours.

FYI: If you do get Regents (which I believe you find out about when official acceptances are posted online in March), you are invited to an overnight program with many different dates to choose from, as well a reception. Didn't do the overnight, but the reception had amazingly good food, so I would recommend it :)

I'm already at UCLA but I have a question-- did ya'll have to apply to get the Regents Scholarship or are you automatically eligible upon submitting your UC application?

Automatically eligible to be considered, then you have to fill out an application to actually get the scholarship.

I got the letter a couple days ago and I consider my stats very high. Just to make sure--does this mean FOR SURE FOR SURE that we'll get into UCLA? I don't want to get my hopes up...

Also, what exactly are you offered as a Regents Scholar? How large of a scholarship are we talking about?

5500$/year + other benefits..see fao.

I got the Invite as well.

Maximum UC Weighted GPA
2240 SAT I
790 US History 760 Math IIC

Pres./Capt. of Debate with Awards
VP in many other political/student leadership clubs

2 Interships, one with a politician and one with a startup company.

Damn, top 1.5%

That's pretty good.

But too bad only 100 out of the 800 or so get selected =(

I lost my letter. I know I received one, and I was bummed because I don't want to write any more college essays, but I can't remember where I put it. Where do we send the essay? What exactly do we put in it? Just what class we'd like to take and why?

Wow, at my school I know there are at LEAST 10 people who received this invite. Makes me feel not so special anymore -_-.

I didn't get a letter. Is there a chance that I might still get one? Is there a website to check to see if you got it?

and... I'm from Wisconsin....

Well it's not actually out of 800, i'm sure not everyone applies for the scholarship, until I came here and saw that it was a pretty big deal I was like whatever. So it's probably more like 100 out of 500 or 600. I'll be a bit more specific with my stats since it might help some of the rest of you
