First off I figured I'd say hello seeing this is my first post so....hello.
On to my question. I was wanting to know what the average SAT score was for accepted freshmen to UF for this past Fall Semester. Also I'd like to know the same stat. for FSU. The reason being is because my g/f goes to FSU and her uncle is diehard for FSU. Hes know a lot about their school and is always trying to make it look so much better then UF, and since hes always trying to one up me he throws out these random facts about how FSU is better. I think a lot of his stuff is BS though but I dont know the truth right away so I cant call him out on it. He said the other day that its harder to get into FSU then UF and that the average SAT score for someone getting into UF was like 1120 and FSU was 1360. Help me figure out the truth on this one.

I don't mean to be rude or an ass but erm...UF > FSU. Take those SAT scores you just listed and switch them. There, that sounds about right.

FSU is my safety school. UF is my ED. You need about a 3.0-3.5 to get into FSU. You need around a 4.0 to get into UF.

I'm sorry, but FSU does not even come CLOSE to comparing to UF. To quote a tour guide at UF, "Our library contains countless books. Furthermore, if we don't have a book, we'll call another university and borrow it. For example, if you want a children's book, we can call FSU"

ya i personally love UF and have been to FSU multiple times, most recently for the clemson game, visiting my girlfriend and agree that UF>FSU. I just need some documented stat or something that shows that UF's average SAT score is highed then FSU's. Itll quiet her uncle down a bit.

No offense, but your girlfriend's uncle does not know his facts. The University of Florida is the number one ranked University in the state of Florida. According to the U.S. News we are 13th in the nation among public universities. The University of Florida is ranked 47th among national universities. FSU on the other hand is ranked 110. If you want to become a Gator I recommend you hit the books. You will need around a 3.9 GPA and a 1300 on the SAT. If you don't have the GPA load up on lots of extracurricular activates and be sure to apply early decision.

Not that this proves anything or everything, but so far as SAT scores go, UF's 25th percentile is pretty much FSU's 75th percentile. No way that FSU is more competitive than UF. Tell your girlfriend's uncle that he needs to do a little research.
