ok. one can easily see that this kid is academically talented. apparently not very much socially though. i believe that nearly 99.9% of people taking standardized tests would not be frowning at neither a 790 nor a 4 on an AP exam. so congratulations laffytaffy, youre number one with a ridiculous GPA which makes one wonder what happened to the good old 4.0 straight A student. you also nearly had a perfect score on your SAT I or 3 perfect scores on your SAT IIs. it doesnt really matter. i'm surprised you didnt list your umpteen extra-curriculars even though penn (and most colleges) would only like you to list the [6] ones youre truly dedicated to.

remember all you who are furiously scanning this discussion board: i understand we are all on the internet and might as well be lying/joking/ranting but if you're the serious type who likes to post his/her stats online, do it with some dignity and social etiquette whatever that might mean.

(frowning at near perfection? good luck making friends in college.. or life)

when i say crappy grades and test scores I mean like scores that are bad for a school like PENN STATE not the OVERACHIEVING people's view of "crappy" grades and test scores. Like Sat's below 1900 and GPA's of 3.0-3.5.

poooks, I know how you feel about those pretentious applicants who frown upon a 790. I don't want to overanalyze it (because quite frankly I don't want to dignify it with more than an ounce of thought), but here's my two cents: If I'm going to a school, I sure as hell don't want to be next to a bunch of cocky students who do things like frown upon a score that is at least excellent. Not many score even a 790, so why are you frowning? So what should someone with a 600 do, kill him or herself? Please don't go around 1) bragging about something you don't even have or 2) fish around for compliments. Even if you are behind the computer, there is a certain level of decorum that possible future Penn undergrads should hold.

Venting? You bet.

Just wondering what he/she has to say.

Anyway, my stats don't compare much with some :o Good luck, anyway!

P.S.- The typical Penn ED applicant from my school has about a 3.7 UW GPA and around 1350 SAT, but there are still a handful of us that get in, so don't lose hope.

damn, seems like everyone here is a genius (at least when it comes to test taking). I feel like total **** compared to most of you, but BAH its just test scores. So here i go.
