Is the cost of attendance for the upcoming term posted anywhere online? I have searched the entire UVA site and can't find any reference to 2007-2008 tuition or room and board costs for undergrads.

Check collegeboard for you but 2006 is still posted. Wow...I knew out of state was more but no idea more than three times the Instate cost. Thank goodness we live in VA.

The state government sets the tuition each year. Last year, I think there was a delay because no one could agree on the state budget. I found a press release announcing the increase dated 4.28.06, so we should hear something shortly.

I believe it is UVA that sets tuition, not the state. Because of the budget battles last year, though, the finance folks at UVA were unable to come up with the numbers until late, since no one knew how much there would be in state support.

The place to get the info is Financial Aid. I talked to them and they told me that the COA numbers usually come out around the 2nd-3rd week of April. Most colleges in VA report tuition increases in the next couple weeks. Keep in mind that UVA has already announced that housing will increase by an average of 9.8% for 2007-2008.

The Board of Visitors sets tuition, but the money we get from the government affects the rate.

Figure the entire COA at 2006 + 10% and you won't be far off. Hopefully a bit high!
