2007-2008 year acceptances?

I spoke to someone at Dodge College who said that the talent scholarship notifications would be sent out sometime around the end of February.

they never asked for my 7th, its said decision pending for well over a month

how do you qualify for a talent scholarship? i'm assuming that that's different from the dean's scholarship for example.

Admitted film production students (not sure about any others) are automatically evaluated for talent scholarships, and you don't have to submit anything unless they contact you. And yes, talent scholarships are different from the dean's and other merit scholarships.

I got Admitted!!!!!!!

im soo happy!!

congratulations 1koolguy, I've actually been following this thread and you'd gotten a bit quiet there and I was wondering what would happen next(it was kind of my daily soap :), suspense and all!), and now you're in so...congratulations!
I'm from Kenya and would love to come study film at Chapman next year. I'm not sure what my chances are but hey, if you don't knock you'll never find out whether anyone's home.

1koolguy how were you informed?

Well you wont believe this...you actually have to show them how dedicated you are to going there........i CALLED THEM EVERY SINGLE DAY TO SEE IF I WAS ACCEPTED...I TOLD THEM I WAS SOO ANXIOUS TO KNOW THEIR DECISION....YET TO HEAR THAT IT WAS STILL DECISION PENDING....IT EVEN GOT TO THE POINT WHERE WHEN I CALLED......THEY SAID IS THIS MIKE?....THATS HOW MUCH THEY REMEMBER ME....

WELL I WAS INFORMED BY TELEPHONE...AN ADMISSION COUNSELOR CALLED MY HOUSE...AND SAID IF I RECIEVED AN EMAIL...I SAID NO...IS IT GOOD OR BAD?...SHE TOLD ME IT IS VERY GOOD...I WAS SO HAPPY...SO I WENT ON AND IT SAID ADMISSION APPROVED

CONGRATULATIONS 1koolguy! Good for you for being persistent, and what a great story! My son went to the Dodge College dessert reception last weekend and was very impressed. He also stayed overnight in the dorms. He's about 99% sure he's going to Chapman--he thinks the film program is cutting edge.

Yes i been accepted though not to the film program just to the school. Which is fine to me. I am really bummed out i got accepted 3 days after the chapman discover day..i really wanted to go....is there gonna be any other day like it?...or do i just have to schedule an appointmetn

so, if you applied to the film school you should know already? crap-tasm

1koolguy, as an admitted student, you can still schedule a "day visit" at Chapman; here's the description and the link to the page it's on follows:
Day Visits
Chapman University offers day visits for students who have been accepted to the University. This program is designed to allow prospective students to experience a Chapman class, and sample part of a day in the life of a Chapman student.

Unfortunately, due to the volume of requests, Chapman is not able to accommodate overnight visits for prospective students.

Day visits begin March 15th and run April 20th (with exception to our spring break: April 2-6). We will begin taking reservations on February 15th.

http://www.chapman.edu/admission/visit/hostprogram.asp

kfrizzle, you should contact an admissions counselor at Chapman (check the list on the web site) and inquire about your application. Don't assume that you won't get in just because you haven't heard. Unless you applied early action, you probably wouldn't have heard by now. We were told that even early action film applicants might hear as late as mid- to late-February.

oh, I applied regular, I wish they gave some sort of a deadline-ish

kfrizzle--from page 1 of the undergraduate admission application:
APPLICATION DEADLINES
FALL 2007
REGULAR ADMISSION
Freshman application deadline . . . . January 31
Notification . . . . Beginning March 15

Again, if you want a better idea of what's going on, just call the admissions office. They're very friendly and happy to give you whatever information they can.

i still havent heard and i applied early... same goes for multiple people i know who applied early action

Anyone receive any Talent Scholarships yet?

Anyone applied for a Music Major? I'm curious about opinions, I'm planning on being a Music Education Major with vocal emphasis

Talent scholarships should be decided on by mid-March.

Has anyone who applied for regular admission (film) heard from them yet?

still no response for me.

decision pending as of 02/05/07

told i would probably be notified mid-march

my application and supplement were recieved november 24th, 2006
