I think the reason all the Otterbein decisions are deferrals so far is that they have not made ANY acceptances yet. They told everyone at their auditions this year that ALL decisions would be made after everyone auditioned, in March. Probably the decisions will come soon. What they DID do was send letters after the auditions telling whether you were "in consideration" for the BFA MT or the BFA Acting or BA Music or BA theater or dance minor, or not in consideration at all. That way at least if you know you are not being considered for the degree you prefer, you could continue with other auditions, and make other plans. But I think the actual decisions for this year are being sent out very soon. And last year, by the way, they took 5 girls and 5 boys for MT. Up from 4 of each. Not sure if they will do that this year.

Aha, there's the answer! Thanks nydancemom. It is nice that Otterbein lets go of some early and they know to move on and lets others know they are still in the running until their final decisions are made. Good luck to you all and congrats for even making it this far in that process!

yes nydancemom, you're right! the decisions for Otterbein will be going out either today or tomorrow.

good luck to everyone!!!

What??? Follow your dreams are you sure? I better go back and reread my notes! My D auditoned March 3rd and I thought they said they would be meeting the week of the 19th and decisions would be made by the end of the month. I sure hope you are right, that would be wonderful! :D

I agree with NanE. I have the same thing in my notes from my Ds audition. BUT I sure hope you are right that would be wonderful!!!!!

Well, it's probably time for the horse's mouth to speak. Our meeting was today and we made tentative decisions about offers in Acting and Musical Theatre. I won't give the specific numbers because I don't think it's appropriate, but we are still targeting a class in the range of 16-18 in Acting and Musical Theatre combined.

But I can give you the timeline. Debbie Byrne and I are meeting in the morning to decide on talent grants. We'll plug those into the database and Debbie Lee, my secretary, will start generating the letters tomorrow afternoon. We won't send them out tomorrow because we'll need to double-check them for accuracy. But if all goes well, they will be in the mail on Monday. I'll write and post a notice as soon as they hit the mailroom. All letters will go out at the same time.

My gratitude to those who took the time to audition for us is boundless. You guys were great this year, and you made our decisions incredibly hard. Exactly as it should be.

Best wishes to all.

That was nice of you to speak up, Doctorjohn. But now, I'm nervous/excited for all the Otterbein candidates, even though my D won't be in that pool until next year. Good luck, everyone! :)

I just wanted to reiterate what Doctor John said above. We saw SUCH talented students this year and it was incredibly difficult to make decisions.

We recognize how hard it is for you to put yourself out there, audition after audition and we appreciate your courage and determination. Regardless of the outcome, you should ALL be very proud of your accomplishment.

Oddly enough, I just got my letter from Otterbein telling me that I was still in the running. I won't have to wait long for the final decision, I guess.

dr. john is cool :)

Whoops! I must've misread it.

Thanks for clearing everything up Dr. John! I too will be joining the "mail-man stalkers" club!
