If Navy's football players can avoid a letdown in northern Texas, they'll enjoy Christmas in sunny California.

Navy, coming off its historic victory over Notre Dame, enters as a two-touchdown favorite over a North Texas team that owns a 1-7 record and statistically ranks among the worst in the Football Bowl Subdivision. A win would make the Midshipmen (5-4) bowl-eligible and lock up a berth in the Poinsettia Bowl, being played Dec. 20 in San Diego....

65-56, Most points by Navy since the 19teens. Announcer just said historically offensive prolific game.

The casual observer is going to wonder how the Navy team got from Longwood on Friday to Denton on Saturday and then back to Drexel on Sunday.

I think that I just heard that it is the highest scoring game in NCAA history.

Navy 74 - North Texas 62

This game set an NCAA record for most points, surpassing the 2004 game of San Jose vs. Rice.

Navy rushing 552 yds. - another record.

Hotel del Coronado is the neatest hotel in the world. Calling right now. Just got to find a cheap flight from the East Coat to San Diego.

San Diego Poinsettia Bowl - here we come!!! Yipee!!!!! Navy Football comes to ME! How about that!!!!

GO NAVY!!

ok - does anyone know if Navy football themselves sells tickets already? Using the main Poinsettia Bowl webpage you can buy a family pack for 100$ for 4 tickets....but I don't know if we should wait for some 'NAVY' Ticket locations????

^^^^^
You are better off purchasing the tickets from the Naval Academy Athletic Association so the Navy gets credit for the sale.

Del Coronado is absolutely the best. The old hotel rooms are rickety but those around the courtyard are great. You can watch the Wedding processions on a Saturday at the Garden all day long. Have not been there for about ten years but it is the best in San Diego. Loved the old elevator and hope they have'nt taken it out. Obviously Ocean view is best. The "new" rooms in the "tower" were good when I was last there but any room there is great.

lots of Up/Downs in order. But they pulled it together in the second half. I think the overall goes to conditioning. NT was gassed into the third quarter. Our guys have been through Plebe summer
:)

GA is correct. The way that the bowls "pay" the teams is to give them tickets. We have never had a problem selling ours, but it is nice to sell them early and put the pressure on the bowl to give us more. Also, buy extra through NCAA to give to the mids.

AF6872, I have always stayed at the one story courtyard rooms which I love. However, once you reach a certain age, rickety is good. I think I will stay ocean view this year. I just love the place. Running on the beach and meeting a BUDS class is priceless.

peskemom, wait for NCAA tickets. They will be better and cheaper.

USNA69:

We are of an age where walking and running is an option. I walk down to see any BUD class. Glad to see you still run down to see them. I do advise anyone planning on a trip to San Diego for the game check out the Del Coronado. It is absolutely the best place to stay.
