2007 Official Transfer Results Thread

Okay, so I've been scrolling through all of these different posts (this is a great thread, by the way) and I'm a little nervous solely because of my SAT II scores.

Biology (E) - 500
Math IIC - 520
Math IC - 650
Literature - 680

My SAT is a 2020 (CR: 700, M: 640, W: 680) and I'm afraid that compared to other people who have SAT IIs in the 700+ ranges and SAT Is in the 2200+ ranges, that my scores don't measure up. I have great ECs, essays, grades, etc. etc. The only thing I'm worried about is how much my SAT II scores will hinder me.

is the rumor about the ultra-selective process with wharton junior transfers true?

JTloverYorS? you have something obviously if you got into Columbia etc. freshman round...but yes your SAT IIs are low IMO. Your SAT score is fine. If you intend to reapply to the same schools u applied to for freshman year, it won't matter tho cuz they will have those test scores on file for several years. you could try retaking if you want, though I'm not sure it'll be a big deal.

to Brand_182 ya ya I am defiantely talking about the WSUSL ( so long to type and i am not even know if its the right spelling)

I got lucky to get into Wharton. My SAT is definately subpar!

haha, it's known as WUSTL :P
congrats on wharton florazhao. ross isn't that great -_-

just don't call Wesleyan Texas Wesleyan or Ohio Wesleyan and we're good :D

Yes, I think that the deciding factor with Columbia was my essays. What does "IMO" stand for, sorry?

I think that my SAT I should be okay... though I'm afraid I should take it again just to boost it up a little bit... I don't know.

haha please forgive my ignorance !! haha

I love ppl on the transfer section.. so nice n funny..

so the_aspirant, what aspects of ross didnt you like? can you be lil bit more specific?

JTLover - IMO = in my opinion.

Obviously in Columbia's opinion they weren't low enough, though they would raise a red flag if I were an adcom, though only at half mast since you're a transfer applicant. :)

When I talked to Columbia about reapplying as a transfer, they said that I would have to submit all new information b/c they don't keep things from year to year (to whoever said they keep scores on file).

Yeah, I'm just nervous that they won't think so the second time around...

And Columbia even says:

"If a student has previously taken the SAT Subject Tests, those scores must also be officially reported. If an applicant has not taken the SAT Subject Tests, they are not required to be taken at the time of the transfer application.""

So I don't know if they actually TAKE THEM INTO ACCOUNT if you're only required to report them?

well, the only way around all of that would be the lovely ACT. Take it and do your best...you can send the best score alone, unlike the SAT which sends everything. Don't send your SAT IIs - if you can avoid them it's best.

Well, is there any possible way to send SAT I without sending SAT IIs?

No. (10 char).

Hey everyone! Hope this helps!

I actually started an exact thread for this about a few weeks ago, but since this thread got far more replies, let's keep this one official, although if people could also post their major or perhaps how they rated their essays or letters of recommendation (from 1-10) or how good the school was for financial aid (if needed), that would also be helpful. In any event, congratulations to those transferring!
