2007 PSAT Scores

I went from 189 to 190..

Since this site is full of nerds, it would be pretty unreasonable to expect to get any sense of the cutoffs based on our scores. However, I hear that there is an overall percentile available on the actual paper score report handed out by the school. If you’re 99th percentile on that, you’re in.

On another thread, it just said that it was 99.5%.
I have no clue though. I would suspect that the cutoff points won’t move up or down more than 1 or 2 points.

99.5 is correct for National Merit semifinalist, on a state-by-state basis.

[National Merit Scholarship Corporation - National Merit Scholarship Program](http://www.nationalmerit.org/nmsp.php)

prospectiveMD: My score report says 99th percentile on my actual paper score report. Is that nationally, or just my state of residence? I’m in DC, so I’m confused whether I will make SF or not (Got a 223).

will i be commended with a 207??

yes definitely

how about a 2010?

a 201 most likely will be commended, but the cut-off does fluctuate. last year i think the commended cut-off was 200.

question-
i know i should be happy with what i got (32 pt raise! yay, $180 prep class. great investment, everyone…) and i’m not going to be TACKY (ahem) and post my score. but i want to know why i omitted a question in cr and another person got it flat out wrong and they got a 79 score and i didn’t.
the same situation happened in writing and math, apparently, with slight shifts.
***?
EDIT:whoa, look! i tried to type w-t-(insert letter after ‘e’) and the site auto corrected it. cool!

did they take the test on the same day as you?

maybe not.
hey, i never thought of that…
thanks.

i wasnt trying to be tacky. im really not proud of my score at all, considering this is a genius forum and all of my friends are geniuses too. i was just wondering if i would be commended.

I am also very confused about how you guys are checking your scores on line…
at "/<a href="College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools
it says you can’t access it untill the week of December 10th.???

Can I get my scores now!?

YOu have to be 99% in all three categories, right? I got 99, 98, and 92 (eek).

Go to My Organizer, then click My College Quickstart, the main page that comes up will show your 2006 results and options, but on the right of the same page it will say past dates…click on 2007.

It may be temporarily down at the moment, but it had been working. Check back in a couple hours if it doesn’t work for you.

The percentage all depends on your state. When you get your score report, you’ll see a percent under the selection index…this is a national percent comparing your selection index to the entire country’s performance. A national 98% may equal your state’s 99.5% if your state usually has lower cut-offs.

Do you all think that it is likely for a state’s cut-off to be 5 points higher than last year’s cut-off?

It’s not showing my scores from last year…its just saying that it will open the week of the 10th.

Did I have to sign up with it last year for it to work now?

Thanks for the help so far.
I don’t think its down–but i wonder if I can sign up (like for last year) now or if its too late?

Thanks for the help—I hope I can do it…cuz I do still have my 2006 test.

if I got

m-730
w-720
r-720

217

is that possible for semi finalist for ohio? We don’t get our reports from school until jan but we are told our scores.

My other question is the curve that the PSAT is based off of, related to how well other students do? So if more students do well, then the curve will be greater, but if more students do badly then the curve will be less? It seems like this curve( from the other posts) seems big. Or how does it work?
