Congratulations! And grrr I'm really mad (and anxious as hell) about the curve this year. ~___~ Last year's, when it didn't MATTER, the curve was really ncie.

I think that the 0 means that you lost 0 extra points because of your -1/4ths for incorrect answers... just a guess, though. Maybe it's a typo. xD

Percentile is national and the cutoffs are by state, so if your state's cutoff is above average, I don't think that 99% ensures NMSF.

Um, does anybody who got their scores back and took the SATURDAY psat... know what space jargon was? was it "unprecedented conditions"? just don't want to get my hopes up before necessary.

My son sophomore homeschooled received his scores in the mail today.
Test date 10/17
CR 71
M 80
W 69
=220
For sophomore scoring all 3 ranked at 99%

thepapercrane -- space jargon is, basically, space talk - the technical/nontechnical terms associated with space-related professions

but AUGH i hated that passage!! it was so boring that i lost my focus =__= i was doing so well..

jenny717 -- 99th percentile does NOT ensure semifinalist status; it depends on each state. ie: a score of 220 would get you semifinalist in most states, but some like new jersey need at least a 223. (i think 223 was the cutoff for NJ last year?) this is why i dislike living in new jersey ;____;

Don't get too excited about the 99%
Note (in my earlier post #104) that this percentile ranking is for sophomore scoring, not junior. I don't think the CR and W would be 99% on the juniors' scale.
CR 44 right 4 wrong 0 omits (71)
M 38/38 (80)
W 36 right 3 wrong 0 omits (69)

I live in Reno Nevada, and I definitely have not gotten my scores back yet...last year we didn't get them back before Christmas Break.
But I'm very worried about the Math Section--I ran out of time in the first section, and I think I did poorly.
I studied for months before the PSAT and took quite a few practice tests, but the curve seems harsh and now I'm super worried.

i got a 99%, with a 219, i was pretty disappointed with the curve though. Im very borderline on semifinalist considering im from NY, any other new yorkers who broke 219?? cause they dont take that many of us. It was a bad test, to easy, so if u missed one u got screwed.
