2007 PSAT Scores

Congratulations! And grrr I'm really mad (and anxious as hell) about the curve this year. ~___~ Last year's, when it didn't MATTER, the curve was really ncie.

I think that the 0 means that you lost 0 extra points because of your -1/4ths for incorrect answers... just a guess, though. Maybe it's a typo. xD

Percentile is national and the cutoffs are by state, so if your state's cutoff is above average, I don't think that 99% ensures NMSF.

I agree with Poseur I think it meant that you lost 0 points on your wrong questions. The curves this year seem extremely hard though.

Um, does anybody who got their scores back and took the SATURDAY psat... know what space jargon was? was it "unprecedented conditions"? just don't want to get my hopes up before necessary.

My son sophomore homeschooled received his scores in the mail today.
Test date 10/17
CR 71
M 80
W 69
=220
For sophomore scoring all 3 ranked at 99%

yorkiemom--How many did he miss or omit in CR and Math?

wow everyone here is 99% -_____-

i know it makes me feel like sh**
not that i have my scores yet, but i'm not counting on anything close to 99%

thepapercrane -- space jargon is, basically, space talk - the technical/nontechnical terms associated with space-related professions

but AUGH i hated that passage!! it was so boring that i lost my focus =__= i was doing so well..

jenny717 -- 99th percentile does NOT ensure semifinalist status; it depends on each state. ie: a score of 220 would get you semifinalist in most states, but some like new jersey need at least a 223. (i think 223 was the cutoff for NJ last year?) this is why i dislike living in new jersey ;____;

Don't get too excited about the 99%
Note (in my earlier post #104) that this percentile ranking is for sophomore scoring, not junior. I don't think the CR and W would be 99% on the juniors' scale.
CR 44 right 4 wrong 0 omits (71)
M 38/38 (80)
W 36 right 3 wrong 0 omits (69)

^wait, that was the answer to the same question that had unprecedented conditions as a choice? what?

Not everyone here is 99%..... I was just at 89% but oh well..

I live in Reno Nevada, and I definitely have not gotten my scores back yet...last year we didn't get them back before Christmas Break.
But I'm very worried about the Math Section--I ran out of time in the first section, and I think I did poorly.
I studied for months before the PSAT and took quite a few practice tests, but the curve seems harsh and now I'm super worried.

Has any one in Nevada gotten scores yet?

Ahh, I'm scared!!!

i got a 99%, with a 219, i was pretty disappointed with the curve though. Im very borderline on semifinalist considering im from NY, any other new yorkers who broke 219?? cause they dont take that many of us. It was a bad test, to easy, so if u missed one u got screwed.

anything over 217is 99 for juniors, i think

sophomore is way lower, last year, i only got a 190, and i was like 95%

Yah, sophomore is always significantly lower.

But the curve does seem super harsh.

Good luck glschneck, that's rough--because now you have to wait sooo long to know.

I just at least want my scores back--but then hopefully I'm not too borderline.

Was the 'cariacature' question on the Wed. or Sat. test?
Ugh, I'm really worried about my score D:

As a sophmore I got a 180 with 80ish percent?
I'm not sure.
This year I'm hoping for a 210+ because I made a 2100 on the SAT anyways.

Good luck laugh-cry-smile, I'm really worried too!

I barely remember the caricature questions...but I don't think that is what I put---and I took the Wednesday Test.

I appreciate all the information about the curves too guys, so when you get your scores--we really appreciate the info.

these are the curves for the two tests for 2007 i think
