2008-2009 Classes Discussion

dont take ap calc w/o precalc would be my advice btw

Senior Year
AP Physics C: Mechanics (hopefully gc wont force me to take B)
AP Calc BC (I have to do well on AB test, im self-studying AB)
English (gpa booster ftw)
AP Stat
Visual Basics (first semester)
Java (second semester)
Latin IV

I do have the option of not taking AP Stat and Latin IV and instead taking another AP Science (2 periods).
Would this be better, because im planning on majoring in astronomy/astrophysics.

Calculus BC

English Literature & Composition

self-study:
European History
Human Geography
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism
Physics C: Mechanics

........lol

just curious, have any of you done like an internship? none of u look like you have........so im starting to think that i am doing something wrong doing intern in my junior year. Any advice please?

bump.........

To Paki about my classes. The first 7 are at school. The next 2 are at a local CC (1 semester each), and the last one is online.

swim2daend: how are you managing those? do you have an A in all the courses?

^ Well that's for next year. This year i have
AP Calculus AB
Pre IB French 3
AP Statistics
Pre IB Chemistry 1
AP U.S. government
IB Computer Studies 1
AP English Language
Calculus 2
AP Art History

I took Art History online and got an A both semesters. Calculus 2 is this semester and currently have a high A. My other classes Ihave gotten straight As for my semester and quarter grades and currently have straight As.

I just have really good time management, but water polo is getting really demanding.

swim2daend : how are AP eng lang. and US gov like? is AP Eng Lang hard? Should i do anything to prepare for it over the summer like read a lot or wut?

^ and did u take Pre-calc before taking AP Calc AB because i am thinking about just going into Calc AB in my senior year w/o pre calc

Yes, I did take pre-calc before AP Calc AB. You absolutely need to know trig for the class. AP english lang is pretty simple since, in my class, it's almost all writing and I'm a good writer. AP US govt is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo easy at my school I get like a 98 in tht class along with everyone else and I have the supposedly "hard" teacher even though most ppl get As.

i will take trig before taking calc AB; however, i will not take pre-calc. so i am wondering if i will be somewhat fine?
and speaking of writing for AP eng., i am decent not too good though; i tend to write long papers and stuff which have some awesome points but i tend to mess up in places. btw thanks.

bump......

You should be fine for calc w/ trig, but mor prepared w/ precalc. I'm not a great english student either. If you have a fair teacher, it's fine.

thanks swim2daend.
has anyone taken AP gov or AP econ? is so, can you tell me how hard is it or easy A or how time consuming?

and btw, i think i am going to stick to my current schedule. is that a good idea?

Junior

AP US History
AP Calc BC
AP Physics
AP Language and Composition
AP Computer Science AB
Spanish 4

some elective stuff...

I plan on a Pre-med program as well. Would it hurt if I took AP Chem in my senior year, and not as a junior?

thanks

Junior

AP CALC BC
AP USH
AP English Language
AP JAPANESE
AP Bio
AP Psych
(I may drop AP CALC BC for STATS)

and
Spanish 1 (I need to start a new language so yeah) any advice?

ajisa, thats hell of lot. id go pretty crazy if i had all that.

and as for my courses, I am not going to do AP English Lang. because i just do not think it will be worth all the effort and suffering of gpa. Can someone pleaseeeeeeeeeeee help me out?

paki786

i think maybe 5 ap's is enough
