2008 AP Biology- Hardest AP Bio Exam in the last 8 years I have seen.

If it was "easy" why do you doubt that you got a 5?
I thought the FRQ were kinda tough....

Everybody said that the 2007 AP test was the hardest ever, especially with the last FRQ question.

Good luck!!!!!

I thought I was going to fail the test, but I ended up getting a 3.

"Who the hell gives a damn about the bark layers on a tree..."

-Touche to that!

treehuggers.
duh

this test = AP Botany
game over

honestly i thought it was easy . but i am slightly good at bio so yeah :) i doubt i got more than 5 wrong on MC, 0 skipped, and any points off short answer.

but thats just me :)

LOL free response...i could've spent 2 hours writing just ONE part of ONE question. but alas i had to manage my time =) nevertheless I filled up every line they gave me on every page and had to squish in an extra sentence or two near the bottom. I had so much to write!

Wow, I hope there is a huge curve....then maybe my son wil get a 2 instead of a 1.

wow Narcissa...and I thought I was an overachiever.

I definetly wrote like 2 pages for all the essays and said done.
And I probably missed like 20 on the multiple choice.

whoooooooooooooooooo

try physics.

MC was hard, with a lot of random stuff that was just like wha? and of course all the plant stuff. I think it could have been worse though, but that's not really saying anything.

FR: Totally made up 2, and BSd a lot of 3 and 4 too.

I am so hoping for a godly curve.

Sorry! Rant Warning!

Some people here say that it was an easy test- well huzza, you must have either self-studied or had an awesome teacher. I had a teacher who assured us (I mean like practically swore on the Bible) that 1) it would be mainly on molecular bio 2)it was easy and extremely general and 3) that she was preparing us more than adequately. I know, I should've done research on my own- but I trusted my teacher, since she acted like she knew what she was doing and the other AP Bio teacher seconded her.

We didn't even learn plant or animal science. She told us, the week before the exam, that "oh, it'll be 50% but you can guess". We did all the labs on our own online. I did some frantic studying but not nearly enough and not nearly enough in-depth.

So, for me, this was the hardest test I have taken in my life and getting a 3 would make me believe in God.

Sorry for the rant. I really hate my teacher right now.

My school only has Bio II Honors. I was the only one in the class to take the AP test...

Honestly, I thought the mc was easy (and yes, I got the bark question right because we specifically went over that in class), but the frq's are going to absolutely slaughter my score. I guess I could've studied more, but being a senior I didn't really care at the time. Regardless of how I do (even if I get a 5), I'm probably still taking the class anyway.

I have a good but not great teacher. We should have done more practice tests. What is the practice test everyone is referring to. I am praying for a 4.

Lol i did normall G11 bio in summerschool in ontario and did G12 bio in alberta (canada), and we went over the bark stuff in G11 bio. but the one with stems/roots spreading over the ground was like WTH? i went back to my Barron's Bio AP and they didnt mention that.
The M.C. had alot of questions where i just went BLANK, and had NO CLUE AT ALL. pretty much guessed like 10-15 Questions. For the FRQ, number 1 was easy, number 2 last part with summer was 100% guess and i got it wrong. number 3 was doable, lucky me that i remembered cyclin and Cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK). number 4 was ok. for the preventions of self pollination. I wrote that some flowers are not 'perfect' and only have male / female parts so theres no way for them to self pollinate, and also the anther is above the stigma, so when the wind blows, it would touch the stigma and self pollinate. (not sure about that second point, i just made it up)

"LOL free response...i could've spent 2 hours writing just ONE part of ONE question. but alas i had to manage my time =) nevertheless I filled up every line they gave me on every page and had to squish in an extra sentence or two near the bottom. I had so much to write!"

Narcissa has big handwriting.
haha :P

best of luck to everyone here...!!!
T_T freaking plants. of course, the one section that we didn't think to cover for the AP because "They usually do not have too many questions about plants".. makes up the entire test.
I also educated-guessed throughout MC/FRQ...

The free response wasn't too bad, I skipped like 3 that had to do with the reproductive system, but I studied plants in depth, so I did fine on that.

2 of the 4 essays I completely and utterly aced, the other two I got at least a 5 on, probably more.

I would have rather had the 2007 last question on plasmid mapping or chi squared problems or something. I don't like botany but I think I knew enough. I'm just afraid to see what I got. I may have been to brief on my FRQs. I'm full of self doubt.

I think AP Bio was easy enough. MC - The stuff I didn't know for sure, I was able to spot the obvious answer. FRQ - The only problem I had was that my hand was killing me...on one of them I had to think for a bit until I got a viable answer, but that was alright.
