dconcerned, what you’re discovering isn’t news to most of us.

I’m surprised that la montagne didn’t get into HYP… ![]()
oh well, MIT pwns them anyways :D

VeryHappy:

i never said i had discovered anything new. everybody here knows that hypsm as dream schools are the hardest to get into. it’s the fact. and here on this board is just the pattern that confirms it. but this year the hardest is even harder. look at all the stats coming out, lowest ever acceptance rates by all ivies, maybe except one.

I knew the pattern even before i started the thread. but that’s why i started it. to see if it’s also true with the cc applicants. sometimes it’s good to know of what you already know, just to confirm it. that’s why we cc participants like to be updated of what goes on on cc boards, learn something new, or sometimes just to be confirmed of what we might already know. isn’t that why we’re here?

I hope that more people will post on this thread to see if there is a pattern. For example, it seems to me that of the people who applied to a lot of ivies, either they got into a bunch of good schools or none. There are some kids who have posted on CC with stellar gpas/scores who didn’t get in to any of a large # of good schools. If this is true, then there may have been something wrong with the kid’s app, and this could range from a fault with the individual’s app, to a lackluster high school or something else. I am still trying to figure out why so many of the top kids (mainly girls) at my school did not get into HYPS. (Even though the guys at my school did very well.)

“maybe the so-called “hypsm” are really the super dream schools, the top of the tops.”

Crap. I’m a junior, and the four real reach schools I was looking to apply to next year are hpsm (not yale).

I’ve got the stats, but this is way not a comforting thought. Not that I didn’t already know how incredibly difficult it is to get into those schools.
