eh... I'm sure it's full of good ideas but I wonder if it would be entertaining to read...

oh, i wish that had been our reading project!!! seriously.."the pickup" was terrrrribllleeee....

okay, for reals. do we REALLY have to do this? -___- like, do they test this in our fws or anything that counts for anything? haha. thanks =]

that was my sister's required reading when she was a freshman at HER college....is that a good sign? haah

oh my gosh, please kill me now

she hated the book.

Haha, if it's worth anything, you don't actually have to do the reading and the short paper that is assigned. During Orientation, you do have to go an event with all the other freshman to listen to a panel talk about the book. You also have to go to a small group meeting to discuss the book and hand in your paper. If you don't hand in a paper, nobody will do anything about it. It'll be kind of awkward to admit in front of your group that you don't have anything done, but you won't get in any kind of trouble--the essay doesn't really count for anything. I think the best essay wins some kind of prize, but it's not that big of a deal. Personally though, I'd at least write a page just to have something to turn in. You can completely BS it though. ;)

To tell u the truth u don't have to do anything. I read the Pickup and regret it b/c i didn't end up doing anything (I always had other stuff happening...like the ILR math test was the next morning so I studied for that instead of handing in the paper and doing the group discussion). So no u don't have to but I guess u should...just be happy it wasnt the pickup.

hahahah. so what if we just skipped the group discussion....sounds like a funner plan.. AHHAHA =] awesome. i'm not doing it! =]

When do they notify students about the book and the assignment? At this point, I'd like to wait until the last minute - senioritis has kicked in.

Since I did this almost two years ago, I don't really remember when they actually sent out the assignment. I think it was sometime in June...you get a big package with the book and instructions about the paper. No reason to worry about it right now.

ohh, they actually send you the book? sweet
