<p>latitude, you shouldn’t get yourself down so much. in our school, normally anyone who applied with decent grades got in a school of their choice (of course, if their grades weren’t so high, they wouldn’t get into a place like St. Paul’s or Choate or Exeter) and it was pretty cool. Even if you didn’t study well, as long as you stood out of mid-quarter reports less than once a year (four quarters a year, midquarters mean an 83 or below, but these are handed out "mid’ quarter) you’d get into a pretty decent school.
This year the straight A, personality-perfect students with great recommendations (mm a few I guess, I don’t think a few got very good ones seeing as how our teachers weren’t exactly angels this year) didn’t get into any of the schools they applied to. A few got rejected from their safeties, and some got rejected from all 5 schools that they applied to. No, not waitlisted. REJECTED. Flat-out we don’t want you. but these were only from those kids who got the mid-quarters so it’s not something to consider for very long.</p>
<p>But when I come here, so many people are waitlisted or rejected it’s hard to believe that it’s just our school going through this (but for the people who got accepted, especially exeter/choate/hotchkiss GREAT JOB 
they’re like the most talked about here) and I think there was an increase in applicants this year along with last year’s class applying like crazy to schools and filling up a ton of spaces.</p>
<p>So don’t take it too hard if you were waitlisted/rejected. It could be a people-overflow thing.</p>

<p>I could not wait til she got home I opened the box.</p>
<p>the waistlist (St. Andrews) came yesterday. I did not tell her. I figured I’d wait on Asheville
and if the news was not good I was going to wait until Fri when I was off to
tell her. 'cause I work in the evenings and I just wanted to be available to
soften the rejection.</p>

Whoa, so your school has a whole application thing help for you?? A few people in my grade applied to school this year, but our teachers don’t really want any of us to go since our school also has a high school attatched :P</p>
