2008 Michigan Football

In a few weeks, we are going to see a new era of Michigan football. How well do you think our season will go? A lot of people have predicted a 6-6 season for us.

8-4 at the least.

6-6 is ridiculous. I say 9-3 is definitely a possibility if we start out strong buy beating Utah. I also think people are worried about the wrong games to be honest. I think we will take down the MSUs and PSUs of the Big 10. The only games I am really worried about are OSU, Wisky, and ND (yes ND..I think they will be better than advertised, Tenuta is a defensive mastermind and it will be interesting to see how RR and crew adjust to his blitz packages).

Even though i think ND is going to be better this year, so is Mivhigan after last years lost to Appalachain St., so i think Michigan will win that game. I think theyll beat MSU but will have tough games against PSU, OSU, and Wisconsin

6-6 seems like a dooms-day scenario. It could happen of course, but I doubt it. If we avoid the injury bug (big if), we should go 8-4 at the worst and 10+ wins at best. Last year, with Mario Manningham, Chad Henne and Mike Hart missing half the season injured, we managed to be less than 10 points away from finishing the season 11-2. Michigan really needs major injuries and horrible luck to finish with more than 4 losses.

My SI college football edition arrived today. They predict Michigan to be 5-7, 8th in the conference. Now that is dooms-day.

Ouch. Well, we'll see.

Luckily, Michigan fans are used to disappointment and heartbreak.

theres no way michigans going to be 5-7. It just seems impossible if you look at their schedule. Im going with 7-5 at the worst. I think theyll be either 9-3 or 8-4 though

7-5 or 8-4, but I'm going with 7-5

Wasn't that cover absolutely disgusting?

I really don't expect much of the team this year. I don't think they will do badly, it's a talented squad. It's just a matter of making adjustments. For me, I don't expect them to be BCS or anything. I mid-range bowl plus a stunning victory over Ohio State would make the season for me. Although I suppose the latter is very unlikely. Rodriguez is a really good coach. He can become a really great coach at Michigan. Hopefully in the next few seasons, he can get us back to BCS...and beating OSU...

I'll be very pleased with any sort of winning record.
The D should be alright, but they've basically lost their entire O-line and are starting many skill players with little experience. In a completely new system...

I guess we can win 12-0 if we play to our potential.:)

12-0 is as likely as 6-6. Certainly a possibilty (particularly if our LBs, OL and QB develop quickly and well), but not likely.

5-7 is laughable. Michigan has not had a losing season in 40 years.

Michigan is not going to be terrible. I'm not too certain about how the offense will perform, but i know for a fact that our defense will be pretty solid. I would guesstimate around 9-3.

i have tickets for notre dame, o state, and penn state...i hope they are good buyt it am not that confident...you saw JC Superstar at Notre dame last year sucked behind an awful o-line....michigan won't be that bad but 9-3 is being pretty optimistic...i say 8-4 is the best this team can do...hopefully enough to make the capital one or bd sports bowl in orlando..i would love to stay there for another bowl game.

my one final comment is that i do think the game vs o state will be very competitive, regardless of how the records stand at tath point in time...by then, i think our offense will be clicking, and I think the 2009 season we will be serious contenders for a national championsship.

As to upset alert, I think App State vs. LSU is going to be one of the top games of the year.

vs Utah - L
vs Miami - L
at ND - L
vs Toledo - L

vs Illinois - W
vs MSU - L
at Minnesota - L
vs NW - L
at OSU - L
at PSU - L
at Purdue - W
vs Wisconsin - L

^dude thats terrible. You think Michigan will be 2-10?

You are all dreaming if you think Michigan is going to be anything better than 7-5. They will be lucky to even get 7 wins. 10 win season?!?!?! Are you f**king kidding? Most likely outcome:

Utah- L
Miami(OH)- W
ND- L
Toledo- W
Ill- L
MSU-W
Minn-W
NW- L
OSU-L
PSU- L
Pur-W
Wis- L

5-7

Illinois, Northwestern and Wisconsin are more likely to be wins than losses. And as most first-year coaches know, the tone of their career at a program is set by how they do against their biggest rivals. Expect RR to have a very good game plan vs OSU and MSU. Like I said, barring major injuries, I see Michigan going 8-4.

i can garuntee Michigan is gonna beat NW

Utah- W
Miami(OH)- W
ND- tough but im going with a W
Toledo- W
Ill- W
MSU-another tough one ill say a L
Minn-W
NW- W
OSU-L
PSU- L
Pur-W
Wis- L

I think they're gonna win either MSU or ND and lose the other so 8-4
