i dont believe

so hurt

i dont believe

so hurt

waitlisted, but thats pretty much what i expected since i spent the least amount of time on stanfords app. im probably not going to be going there anyway, so i dont think ill be hurt too much if they reject me.

like someone said before in this thread, we're still in a very select group of people...i havent heard anyone from my school who got in (they were all waitlisted EA), and these were really amazing people at a highly nationally ranked public school.

also, does anyone know if the wait list acceptance thing is binding? that is, if we agree to be on the waitlist and we're accepted, we have to go to stanford?

thats not the case.

btw kill me plz

Waitlisted...what a decisive decision! :D

I was waitlisted too!!
and everyone should feel awesome because we are the top 15%..
if stanford wanted to accept a bit more, we'd be in :)

I got waitlisted but I probably won't request to be put on the wait list (I've already got into schools that are higher on my list)

Waitlisted for Stanford, but that's kinda okay; I already made my decision with Princeton. Just hurts my ego! lol
=P

my friend who's ranked 1/715 and 4.33 GPA got waitlisted

waitlisted

definitely hard to take

Well I at least tried my best and I have no regrets. (After the few hours of just utter silence, I have recuperated.) =] Though now I am worry about the Ivies (4 possible rejections on Monday)

^Exactly the same case with me dwindlelights.

I was over at a friend's house when i checked and was utterly silent for a long time.. and now I feel much better.

I'm REALLY worried about my 4 ivies coming out on Monday too!

Do you guys think that Stanford is tougher to get into than some ivies? :

I guess my decision to put myself on the waiting list would depend on what comes out on Monday..

Good luck everyone!

I'm 1/688, 4.7 GPA, I worked really hard on the essays and such (poured my heart out), but I suppose I was lacking in uniqueness.

I double checked my list.

I have 5 Ivy League universities responding to me on Monday with their decisions!

Ugh... I hate being on the waitlist. And let's just not even think about the Ivies...

i told a few friends that im quite happy to be waitlisted and most responded with confusion, so here are my two reasons:
1. wait list is not acceptance; i wont be over-confident on monday with the ivy decisions. high expectation usually means heavier fall.
2. wait list is not rejection; i wont lose the momentum ive gathered in the past few months (like barack obama, in a sense).
:)

Take a look at the statistics last year: http://www.stanford.edu/home/statistics/#admission

OMG elisaxbanana! Same here! I'm ranked 1/692 students, 4.4 GPA, and poured my heart into the Stanford essays but maybe we are just unoriginal. =[

Oh well, I have my beloved UCLA and UC Berkeley to fall back on. =]

I got wait listed at around 3:50 PM. I didn't even know how to feel !

Optimistic point of view: We didn't get rejected...we actually qualified for Stanford!!! There just wasn't enough space....

Pessimistic point of view: We didn't get accepted...

I'm tired from the adrenaline running through my veins every time I see a college letter. I feel like crashing now.

::SIGH:: So much for my dream school...the admittance rate for people on the wait-list are worse than regular admissions.

I thought that the freshman class was only 1,670 or so it said on the e-mail.

me too dwindlelights!!! March 31st seems so ominous after waitlists from Duke and Stanford:( but we are in the 15% !!!! Don't lose hope everybody!!!! We are all amazing people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
