I know exactly what you mean x90 :(

Thanks for the info FirstWonder! But if there are more people like your son who decided last minute, they might have chosen Stanford, which would bring the number of waitlist spots down...

Did all of you receive a confirmation stating you were on the waitlist or did some not receive anything?

i never got any confirmation =/

Good, cause I didn't either. :)

After I sent it, I did receive second email titled "A Copy of Your Stanford Waitlist Submission" e-mail, if that's what you mean.

Haha, so Penn started deducting from my parents' account already (for our monthly payment). Looks like I'm going to be stuck anyway even if I get off the Stanford waitlist. But omg, I would be totally bummed if I was taken off...just because I would wish I had the choice.. but I really absolutely love Penn so I don't know. I'm a confused kid. O_O

Did anyone else not receive the "A Copy of Your Stanford Waitlist Submission" email?

I submitted mine on May 1st and received no such email. I emailed admissions asking them if they received my info and they said that they had and not to worry if I didn't get an email.

I heard a rumor about Brown's over enrollment.

I hope Stanford accepts me from the waitlist.

I hope you get into Stanford rather than me because I got off my waitlist on Columbia :). Sorry about Brown though.

I was going to go to UCLA and although UCLA is a terrific school, it felt awkward that people in my school were giving me odd looks when I told them just because I was ranked one and they expected me to go somewhere great. But seriously, it is annoying when they do that. >_<

^ Congratulations.

Argh, bearing it out is the worst part. I REALLY hope I can get off... sigh... May 15th couldn't come any sooner.

^Same. Although Cornell is a great school, I've always wanted to stay in California. It's just I didn't like the big size of LA or Cal. Stanford has been my first choice since forever, and I really hope I can get off. :/

Stanford has been my first choice since forever too, and I just can't bear to put away my Stanford sweater I bought when I visited. Sigh... the situation of being waitlisted reminds me of the Langston Hughes poem "A Dream Deferred"

BTW is anyone else international?

Haha you should see the looks I get when I'm ranked one and I tell people that I'm going to the University of Idaho...

Wow, I can imagine the kind of pressure rankings put on people...Thank God my school doesn't rank. I'd probably barely crack the top 40.

My school doesn't release ranks either since its so competitive, but I did sign a release so they WOULD put my rank on my transcript since I am number one, but nonetheless, I'm still a waitlisted d00der.

So shows how hard it is to get in even with sweet grades and stuff.

ahh they just notified me...didn't make it oh well...did any of you send a letter to the dean or nahhhh?

I am on the extended waitlist? Is that like purgatory plus?

Didn't get in, peace guys.

i just got denied... again!!!! O well, off to boston college for me!
