Sorry this is kind of a double post, but some info were updated. Please delete my original on pg.7

Entering as: Sophomore
Major Applied: Pure/Applied Mathematics
College GPA: 3.96 (7 A+, 1 A-)

Rec: Although I didn’t get to see them, I assume they were pretty good. -- Highest grade in class/ great relationships with professors.
Essays: I wrote two essays and used them for all the colleges. I didn’t think they were that good but my anthropology professor really liked them and called them a “New Yorker.”

Applied to: Georgetown, WashU, Penn, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern
Accepted: Penn, Brown, Columbia, Washu, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern (my request for withdrawal at Hopkins and NW apparently never went through)

Words of wisdom for freshmen who are already planning to transfer next fall (although u probably won't listen): Give your current school a chance before deciding to transfer. I definitely regret not doing so.

bump 10char

Current School: Hamilton
Entering as: Sophomore
Major Applied: Math/Philosophy

Rec: Glowing. Teacher's favorite student for one of the recs and very close relationship with the other (talked over breaks about philosophy)
Essays: Not great. My Why Cornell essay was very good but my other essays (aside from Penn, where I sent in an addendum after being blown away on a tour) were mediocre. They were specific but not super compelling and my Brown and Yale ones repeated three lines word for word (I copy-pasted and forgot to delete--nice!).
