Rejected Stanford

In at Duke, waiting for the Ivies.

i was perusing this board, and even though i did get into stanford, i got rejected from berkeley. so all you future bears have that one on me. college decisions.. so unpredictable!

^^ amen! ;)

This thread scares the crap out of me (transfer hopeful).

I seriously think a little bit of poo came out, just reading this onslaught of rejections.

QUESTION: Does not applying for financial aid (as a transfer canadian) give you more chances or is it needs blind?

Now if you'll excuse me I have a skidmark situation to check in on. Congratulations to everyone that got into Berkeley and other great colleges! :)

after being rejected by stanford, i had a weird sense of joy when they lost to Texas ^^ . But honestly, good luck to everyone, wherever you may end up.

Rejected (yesterday).

Cool!

lol I'm asking for a paper copy, those *******s made me wait 24 hours for a rejection.

Go to Grinnell! I'm from Iowa, and I've gotten accepted there and to Notre Dame. I'll end up going to Notre Dame, but I loved Grinnell when I visited (and they gave me awesome financial aid).
Oh, and I obviously got rejected from Stanford. Their loss...who wants to go chop down some trees?! :)

rejected! screw you stanford!

mit ftw. gotta go buy some MITtens now. wow that was lame...

i think we are having a global burn-the-stanford-rejection-letter thing spontaneously organized in the near future. im probably gonna follow suit with the wait list one i get, too.
that, however, is a bit counterproductive towards the environmentally conscious initiative stanford has embarked upon-- can you imagine the amount of carbon released from that fire?

yeah rejected. screw stanford!! haha but i didnt show ANY interest or send in any more stuff (not even mid year grades) after i got deferred so its pretty understandable.

Hmm, I just felt like popping in the Stanford forums even though I was rejected way back for EA. They didn't even have the decency to send out a formal letter? Ugh, they at least let me have that much.
But I can't find my copy anyways, so I guess I won't be burning anything with you guys, haha. In any case, I'm in my dream school, Berkeley, so it's all good. Hope to see some of you guys as Golden Bears next year, with no more bad feelings about Stanford ;) It's their loss.

I guess none of us are worth a rejection letter. I don't care, though. At least I know how self-pretentious and self-centered the Stanford people. I never expected to get in, so that's that.

rejected. third one this week (ucb, and northwestern). Looks like ill be deciding between ucla and usc (oos for me) since monday no longer looks promising

They sent a paper rejection for EA rejections. Using environment as an excuse to skip sending a paper letter is kind of lame. Only makes sense if they insist all other admission material be sent online... Just a bad excuse I would say...

@yorkshire_lass - Between Santa Clara and Berkeley, I would seriously go UCB. Yes, cost is a big factor for OOS, but you will recover it when you graduate, even if you take loans.

Look at below ranking link. This is an unbaised ranking of world's top universities done by Shanghai Jiao Tong University to compare how chinese universties are doing with respect to top universities in the world. Unlike US News ranking this is really much more realistic based on a lot of factors.

Click on Top 100 and you will see UCB is up there at #3 and Santa Clara is not.

haha, yeah the vindictive side of me wants to ask for a paper copy. if i paid 65$ for my application fee, you can spare the $0.47 or whatever it is for a stamp.

I was rejected after deferral SCEA.

I'm in at Duke, Johns Hopkins, Rice (with substantial merit aid), Northwestern, Olin, Cornell (LL), Columbia (LL), and Ohio State, however, so I'm really ok with it. We'll see how HYP go tomorrow!

whats LL, eravial?

Congratulations on Columbia!

LL = likely letter, I assume
