Doh. Of course. A likely from all those schools...I'm guessing your chances at HYP are pretty good.

I joined just to give this a well deserve 'lol'.

lol.

oh well. palo alto's boring, anyway.

wow no one here has been accepted to Stanford?? if you have, please pm me or talk to me ! I need to find out how to get into Stanford!!!thanks

My daughter was rejected after deferral (I'm an alum as is my father). This was her first rejection (on Northwestern waitlist). Waiting for Cornell, otherwise UCLA/USC/BU or Cal (she's not likely to go to Cal). I'm not a happy camper today.

I also think it's really incredible to use the environment as an excuse for not sending letters when the Stanford application wasted more paper than any other with their postage labels printed in the center of a piece of paper and their specially sized envelopes. No sour grapes here--DS got into his first choice, but this was the coldest application process I've been through so far!

Ditto on the not sending letters. If this is the direction that Stanford is headed then maybe it's a good thing that we were rejected. There could have been a better way of them handling rejections. They should be upfront as to how they are going to handle rejections so that future applicants know that all they will be getting is an email rejection. We will all be a better asset to another college.

Excuse my language, but no **** nobody got into Stanford here. You're reading the rejections thread. Sometimes I wonder how insensitive some people can be. And then I wonder why people think there's some formula for getting into a prestigious top university. There isn't. Do what you like in high school, something you enjoy. If you get into a school, great. If you don't, then they weren't the right school for you anyways, and there'll be other schools that'll accept you with open arms.

HAHAH!! i got REJECTEDD!! buh i got into HARVARD!! so WHATEVER ritee??? lmao.

^^ haha congrats!! Yeah.... rejected over here too, but I wasn't expecting much as an international =(

I really agree with post #127. This says so much about the current administration and their priorities. The previous admissions dean (the current one has been there about 3 years) would never have handled any aspect of this in this manner. I think that everyone here may be better off wherever they go.

Another parent of a very sad deferred-then-rejected, very well-qualified applicant who was just heartbroken by the coldness. Not to mention the 24 hour wait, sleepless, at the computer for the rejection. Shame on Stanford and shame on that admissions dean.
