Thanks for posting.

No problem.

I noticed NYU was ranked 15th last year but is now 10th in this recent ranking.

H/W/S on Top - check.
Kellogg not in the Top 3 - check.
Yale SOM in the Top 15 - check.

Columbia ranked too low.
Haas ranked a bit high.

Alex, what are your thoughts that USNWR has Dartmouth ranked no. 7? Particularly given your stance that rankings which have Tuck ranked highly should all but be dismissed - clearly it must be a pretty damn good program - otherwise how do you explain that nearly every single ranking has it ranked in the Top 10? ... i.e I don't quite understand why Tuck being ranked so high is such a "joke" to you.

I like this ranking more than most of the other ones. I wish Northwestern/Chicago were ranked higher, but that's due to personal biases.

When you say that you wished that Kellogg and UChic were ranked higher, does that mean you wish it were ranked in the Top 3? I mean at no. 5 there's not much more room for improvement.

Is MIT Sloan really that good (ie #4)? That school seems like such a beating.

Yes, I wish they were ranked in the top 3. I think the main reason why they're not ranked in the top 3 is because of name recognition, and USNWR seems to be big on that, as do some of the recruiters.

In order to rank Kellogg and Chicago GSB top 3, people might have to do things like this:

HBS

Wharon

Stanford GSB

MIT Sloan

Chicago GSB

Kellogg

CBS

Tucker

Hass

Stern

Ross

Hilarious. However, I think that people would move Stanford up on part with Wharton and HBS. There's a reason why they can easily go toe-to-toe with HBS and Wharton for cross admit numbers and it ain't because of the Palo Alto weather...

On what basis?

The first three points were just confirming that this newest ranking were in line with my assertions / positions / arguments / views (thus, the "check")

The last two points were just observations / my own opinion regarding this latest ranking... are we not allowed to have opinions anymore?

Don't be absurd. Of course we are.

It's clear to me Yale's about 10 spots too high, Dartmouth should be about where Yale is, and UCLA is underranked.

Congratulations.

Aw c'mon, prestige. You don't want to go at it? :)

Seriously, though, you seem to be biased in favor of the Ivy League, which is fine, but it's just noteworthy.

LOL :)

are you trying to get a rise out of me BedHead? how evil of you.

UCLA Anderson does look underranked to me. From being on par with Duke around 11-14, to being unseated by Cornell and Yale.

is Yale really regarded that low? i'd really love to go there for grad school.

Biggyboy, Yale's MBA Program is quite new.

This USNWR ranking did not surprise me. It isn't any different from their past rankings. All the programs were within 2-3 spots from their usual ranking. I don't see much change taking place in teh USNWR rankings over the next year or two.

The way I see it, the USNWR is designed to rank MBA programs as academe sees fit. BW is designed to rank MBA programs as corporate America sees fit. Combined, those two rankings give a comprehensive view of the top MBA programs in the nation. With HBS, Kellogg and Wharton rounding up the top 3, closely followed by Chicago and Stanford and then Columbia, Haas, Michigan, MIT and Tuck. There is very little difference between those 10 MBA programs.

And I don't have a problem with Tuck being ranked among the top 10 MBA programs. I think Tuck, along with Haas, makes very solid argument for top 10 honors. I take exception to Tuck being ranked #1 or #2, but I definitely believe Tuck is a top 10 MBA program.
