2008 US News & World Report Rankings

Anybody have any idea when they come out??!!

my 2007 magazine says its to be released from stores as of June. Im guessing its because the new version comes out then.
im dying to see it :D

If you are already in a college, you shouldn't care at all.

well im not in college. im starting this fall. still interested in seeing wether the school i commited to keeps on increasing in the rankings.

Oh my ckufing god. Not to be mean, but... this has been posted many, many times recently. Please, just use the search function.

The 2008 US News rankings come out in August.

haha I know and trust me, I hate all the ranking-based kids more than anyone but I wanna make fun of those kids in my grades who worked their asses off and got into worse schools than me...

don't expect much change from '07

but rankings are a way to estimate the approximate caliber of the school right? if you qualify in terms of stats its good to narrow down your list of schools to about 7-10 from the top 20s, i think. ill be applying next year so im waiting to see what'll happen.

and iann, rankings do change quite a bit: chicago was 15th two years ago, now its 9th. i don't think it means that the quality of education has drastically improved. but im sure chicago must've benefitted in terms of number of applicants and yield.

who cares about rankings!

Yes, UC changed markedly over that period <rolls eyes="">, What they did was "clarify" some of the data they were sending to US News that helped improve their score. Gaming the system--you be the judge.</rolls>
