2008 USNEWS Leaked!

Hi guys! I was just at my local Barnes and Noble, and I noticed that they had the new USNEWS Rankings out!!! :D

I guess an employee must have made a mistake or something, but oh well, here they are! (I only have time to type up the first 25 or so)

Princeton

Yale

Harvard
Stanford

MIT

Caltech

Columbia

UPenn

Duke
Dartmouth

Cornell
Chicago

Northwestern

Brown
Washington University

Johns Hopkins

Rice

Georgetown

Emory

Vanderbilt
Notre Dame

Carnegie Mellon
UC Berkeley

Virginia

UCLA

Michigan

OK, well I’ve got to go, but I’ll be back to give more details later! Enjoy!! :)

oh wow! that's really weird because i just got them at barnes and noble too, and i was about to post them, but then i saw your thread... i've got the same rankings right here, so i won't bother to post them, but i can confirm that they are true...

thanks, ehains

eat your heart out, harvard ;)

another 1 poster post. makes me question it again. but who knows. this one has some surprises in it. berkeley low, harvard low, penn low, columbia high, georgetown high. however it looks more accurate than the other posts claim of the top 50. im still not believing this one though. untill i see a camera phone pic of the page im not a believer.

This
Is
So
Dumb.

6 more days.

i would like to see 1-40 if you have them... and possibly upload a camera phone pic of the page. still seems really fishy to me... this poster only has 5 posts.

Um, yeah ucchris. That's why I said "This is so dumb."

OMG and let me think... all these schools are still really good.

what are the LACs?

Hopefully this is the real ranking, but it's probably not.

i agree wtih you virtuoso_735!!

We've already gotten a confirmation from someone who said they'd gotten the same magazine at their Barnes and Noble or whatever.

I'd count on it being true, unless the OP and the second poster are in cahoots to trick us for their own amusement.

Unlikely.

Harvard 3rd to Yale and Princeton...

:-/

The people here are way too gullible.

^You're right, oh wise one. Thanks for the italics too, it really emphasized your point.

Yep.

That from the same person who made the following comment.

You have someone with a single post who claims she saw the USNWR leaked rankings and another person with five posts (the majority of which are on rankings threads) who "confirmed" it. Suspicious? *No Way./i

Rankings are pathetic in general. It's what you make of the experience, rankings won't make you succeed.

Looks kinda legit, but I'll definitely wait for the real thing.

Could Georgetown be this year's Chicago? That'd be nice. ;)

Not that it matters much anyway...

How could Columbia have possibly jumped Penn?

Crazy. I believe it though.

You know, i hope someday some of you will realize that rankings dont really matter and that it really is up to you and how well you can do in college. Just because you go to a top school doesn't guarantee you will do well and go to the best grad schools.

Yes, madamebovary, and you probably don't care about the rankings at all, right? ;)

I surely do hope that Pitzer will jump up a little
i mean admission rate was so low this year- 26%

My question for you: "will usc finally beat ucla in the ranking?"
Berk: still #1 public hands down :)

The fact is, everyone knows the rankings don't mean much (if anything), but everyone (including you) can't help but be a little bit curious about them.
