2009 AP Bio FRQ Disscussion Thread

Only 9 hours and 15 minutes before we can break loose and discuss!!!!!

Just a reminder: For those that can't remember what the FRQs were, they will be available on collegeboard as soon as the 48 hours are up.

Just wondering…
why do we discuss and dispute about the FRQ if they post what they graded on after the 48 hrs.?

They don’t. They just post the questions.

Exactly. So now that the 48 hours are up, does any have any idea what in the world a phylogenic tree or whatever is??

http://www.utm.edu/departments/cens/biology/rirwin/391/391VertPhylog.GIF

Oh no, my tree was curvy, not rectangulary -_-

I made a line graph for #1… I wish I did a bar, that would make so much mroe sense -_-

Ahh shoot. I did the cladogram wrong. Eff, I thought a phylogenetic tree was more like a “family tree” – I didn’t realize it was more like a cladogram :(

Form B Seemed so much harder than the otehr one o-o

Okay, here’s my situation: For one of the problems, I listed homologous structures, but I described analogous structures. Homologous structure is a correct answer but I put the wrong description. Will I still get a point at all for correctly listing it.

My other situation is the same as my first but instead, I listed photosynthesis, which is create and stated that it degraded 18 ATP all together to create by products and glucose in the Calvin Cycle. However, I listed OAA, which is not a product in the Calvin Cycle, as a product…Will I get penalized, even though I got everything else correct but listed OAA by mistake?

Btw, how much do you think each subquestion for number 2 and 3 were worth anyways?

They don’t penalize you for mistakes. They can only give you points for correct info…

Well…I put correct info…Does that mean I get the points like I do in my situation?
