2009 Fall Transfer To NYU

yeaaaah im not very into business or numbers of any sort lol

hey so i’ve been reading transfer threads. paranoid as hell. i applied to gallatin for fall 2009, im a sophomore right now and i have a gross gpa at vanderbilt. :frowning: sweetpotato! what year are you in? goodluck! did you just apply to nyu? man i wanna get in so badly. :-(

im a sophomore, too haha

cool! you going to rites? LOL on to more important things. i was a BME major and it basically killed me. where else you applying to? some schools have a may 1 deposit deadline, and it sucks because i’ll lose money in the process and be left hanging for Barnard and NYU for a while after

For those accepted, you may find this helpful.

[Washington Square News - A transfer’s guide to NYU](http://www.nyunews.com/2.6167/a-transfer-s-guide-to-nyu-1.647159)

Anyone here waiting for their transfer status to Tisch as a drama major? I’m wondering if anyone has gotten notification letters of acceptance or denial to Tisch already.

Any idea how transfer housing works? Do transfer students get priority over non-ED freshmen?

Hey liberate,
no, transfers do not receive any priority over non-ed freshman, transfers basically get stuck with three or four housing options that are either ones that haven’t been filled or are reserved specifically for them.

timdb:
I’m trying to transfer to Tisch for drama, but I havent heard anything. Are you a theatre major at your current school? How did your audition for Tisch go?

(You dont have to answer if you dont want to)

has anyone gone through old threads to see when people started hearing back last year? i cant seem to find fall 08 transfers here…

We should see decisions being released next week according the the Fall 2008 transfer thread.

After going through last years thread, i’m so paranoid. People got rejected from Stern with a 3.9. This sucks

SixStringAddict… In two weeks I’ll let you know if people are getting rejected this year with 4.0’s. eek.

I applied as a Stern transfer for International Business… in hindsight I’m thinkin I woulda been better off at the CAS for Econ.

I wish you guys all luck - NYU just seems to be getting more and more selective each year. And Stern, well…That’s a different story.

Mike - best of both worlds, man. Vermont and Palm Beach!! Now that I can deal with.

i’ve got like a 3.78 i have NO CLUE what it will be after this semester…but i dont know of anyone else who is applying as a gender studies major?

Did you guys all recieve four emails? I only recieved the one conerning my NYU ID. In the previous post, someone said s/he got the final confirmation letter after “initial processing” of his or her application. I sent out all the required credentials in mid-march, but I haven’t got the final one. I am really anxious. Does this mean my file is incomplete?

Call the office. I also only got the one email so I called the office about three weeks ago and they told me that my application was complete. So no need to worry. Maybe one admissions officer is sending out emails to students and another one is not. So it all depends. But to make sure I would call the office.

Am I crazy or does it seem harder to transfer into Stern than it is to let’s say…Cornell- an Ivy League…???

It might be true. Transferring into business schools doesn’t have much to do with the university itself. If a non ivy school has a business school that is say number 3 in the nation. Then it is going to be harder to get in then the regular cas at a lot of universities that are usually harder to get into. I don’t know how well regarded stern actually is compared to other business schools but that is a definite possibility.

So I just called NYU and they told me that we should be receiving a decision before of on May 1st. I hope thats true.
