2009 Fall Transfer To NYU

I'm applying to gallatin here.

Hello all, I'm just seeking a bit of advice. I'm seeking to transfer for the fall...
I applied to NYU last year, so I just called and apparently they only had my ACT score on file right now.

Now, should I still send my SAT scores? They accepted me last year, so I guess my high school stats were good enough. But I didn't get a 2400 or anything.

Stats:
SAT: R: 680/M: 650/W:730
SAT II: Math II: 590/650: Bio M: 650/670 (I took the dumb things twice.)

Anyways. Should I send the scores or just leave my ACT on file with them and leave it at that (I got a 30.)?

are you applying as a sophomore or a junior? cause i know if your a sophomore applying for fall 2009. they dont need you to send it in.

Yeah I will have over 30 credit hours. So I shouldn't bother at all, it won't help or anything?

Dont bother sending it in. You dont have too. I called and they told me i dont have to send it in.

hey nyu44,

I'm applying for steinhardt, how about you?

im a sophomore and will apply for my junior yr (fall 09) ..
-current gpa: 3.59
-chem major
-i have done some volunteer work..

what are my chances ?

NYUjosh i'm applying to gallatin.

not letting this board die. lol

Hi everyone planning on transferring to nyu for fall 2009.

hey guys, i go to uci and have 3.3 gpa and major in bio, i have about 60 quarter units and by end of this year it will prob be around 90. should i not bother to apply if i get my gpa up to 3.5? seriously uci bio sucks here, all the smart asians are killing me :(

Would a current freshman have to submit their SATs, or do you have to have completed 30 credits at the time of the aqpplication? I will have completed 30 by the time I would transfer, at the end of freshman year. Do they need my SATs?

I'm applying to CAS for Fall '09 as a sophomore. I took 17 credits this semester and got a 3.77 - do you think I have a chance at NYU?

h2soccergod- i would say apply, you never know what is going to happen! write a great essay and make sure you have good recs and ec's.

JPS9101- yeah you would have to submit your SAT scores since you are a freshman now. i had really bad SAT scores but i applied as a sophomore for spring transfer and got in. the SATs are suppose to measure how well you are going to do in college if you are doing well you shouldn't have too much to worry about.

rsb825- you definitely have a chance. a 3.7 for cas is the average and you have a little bit above that. you definitely have a shot!

good luck to all you guys applying for fall! i got in as a transfer student for spring '09 so i know what you are going through. even if you don't think you will get in still apply, you might be strong in other areas they are looking for. don't stress out and good luck!

how many teacher recommendations are people submitting? As of now, I'm only putting in one...

Hello, I'm another student hoping to transfer into NYU for the Fall semester.

cherrybomb-I only submitted one letter recommendation.

cherrybomb- I only submitted one recommendation to.

michael w-what school at nyu did you apply to?

I'm applying to gallatin with a 3.56 with 48 credits complete. I hope my gpa is high enough.

nyu44 i applied to steinhardt. don't worry about your gpa at this point, nyu is great because they look at a lot of different factors not just your gpa. gpa is important but not the deciding factor. people have gotten in with a lower gpa.

when i applied i also only submitted one rec so don't worry if you only have one.

soon so many people will be on this thread it will be hard to catch up! i hope all you guys and gals get in!!

Thanks, MichaelW! Congrats on getting in for the spring! I don't have good SAT scores either (1940) but I'll try anyway.

If you are applying to Stern would you suggest applying as a sophomore transfer (entering NYU as a junior)? i got a 3.3 or a little less in high school and did terrible my senior year, however I have a 3.7 my freshmen year at University. I really want the admission staff to look only at my University credentials. What are your suggestions and comments? I go to the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

3.7 first semester GPA - I will have a total of 30 credits by the end of freshmen year. In addition i have 14 AP credits and 8 Language credits, putting me at a solid 52 credit hours by the end of my freshmen year (semester hours)

EC's: Investment Banking Club, Undergraduate Investment Club, Board of Programmers for my Living center.

AP Distinct Award ..low HS GPA because of horrible case of senioritis
