here are people that got off the waitlist today:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/710434-waitlist-acceptances.html

Trojanhopeful, I was also in the same position as you are in now, I had nothing from NYU after I applied, and that was about a while before the deadline, but I called up a couple of days ago and they finally gave me an NYU ID.

Isnamedmichael, I completely agree with you, and evidently, from your friend’s case, we will just have to wait.

So I see a lot of people are still waiting for a reply from Stern, anyone applying from abroad? What year is everyone applying for and for what major?

three people here got off the waitlist on saturday, so i’m going to assume that they’ve finished the application process

if not, then it’s unethical as you said

wait…how is that unethical? those are freshman getting off the waitlist. we are all transfers…in different classes from the freshman. correct? so how sould their acceptance affect ours? other than maybe financial aid or what not. (someone correct me if i’m wrong?) that’s just what it looks like to me though… =)

i was always under the impression that transfer students fill a different quota than freshmen students. so it’s not at all surprising that they’re extending acceptances to 2013 applicants before they extend it to transfer students.

the way i see it, the number of seats that are available for transfer students are dictated by how many people transfer out of that program the semester or year before. 2013 has their OWN quota of seats to fill, whether it’s financial aid money or beds in freshmen housing or people in certain majors.

it’s kind of like being on line for a rollercoaster at Six Flags. they let in the people on one side first, and we’re the people who fill the gaps. :-P

So i count 3 people who got into stern so far?

My response was under the assumption that contristo was talking about TRANSFERS getting off the waitlist. That would be unethical. If those are 2013 applicants getting off the waitlist, that has nothing to do with transfers. NYU allots a certain amount of space for transfers and the freshman waitlist does not affect that.

i’m a frequent poster to the NYU board, and those are the same applicants i’ve been speaking to all spring. definitely 2013.

I am a little worried that i haven’t heard from them yet.
I’m an int student studying in Singapore. (Joint program with local university with SUNY-Buffalo)
Anyone got any idea of my chances of getting in?

haven’t heard ANYTHING till now!

Stern, Finance, Freshman, 4.0

Anyone in the same situation?

It’s an insanity!

Well they did say early to mid-may

is there anyone who was able to log in with net id and then got rejected?

i know…i called a while ago.

but im just wondering that if it’s a bad sign that I haven’t heard a thing or received an email till now.

i’m not sure. i haven’t heard from them either but admissions told me yesterday that my application is complete and under review after i asked, so i’m assuming that we’re just the last batch they’re reviewing. we should all know within 2 weeks apparently

do they review your financial aid package after admissions accepts you or is your financial aid package reviewed at the same time admissions reviews your application? Or is financial aid determined before your acceptance is determined?

MrSmile, are you applying for a transfer into sophomore year then? I’m applying for the same major at Stern.

@thomasmaking

I think they review your financial aid package after they accept you because I haven’t been able to login to my financial aid page yet and I’ve read that another person on this thread is in the same situation.

i was able to recently succesfully log into my financial aid online I says it recieved my fafsa application but there is not a package yet. does this mean I was accepted?

@ Mrsmile - with 4.0 i am sure you have a high chance… besides they said they will notify us only via post not email
I am, too, applying for stern finance. but i am a junior.

oh. I can’t log in. And I only have a 3.563. I have a lot of credit hours tho. I wanna go to TISCHHHHH!!!
