2009 Fall Transfer To NYU

ahhhh, why does this thread keep dying? haha.

hi,

for those of you that already sent their application, how long did it take NYU to validates your application. so when do you get that fourth confirmation email?

NYUjosh, Keep this thread alive. haha

hey nyu44 , do you think i have a shot at transferring to NYU for fall of 2010? i plan on xferring as a junior.. im a student at smc with a gpa of 3.5 with 1 W and 1 repeat.. (failed statistics 1st time, C 2nd time) and my major is sociology.. no EC's.. also how will the total tuition fee be since im a CA resident.. and also can i get financial aid if i do get in NYU?

Um, Kimdavid, you gpa is alright, but not that great, but with 1 withdrawal and i fail. it kind of looks bad. Try to raise your gpa up a bit. You also have no ec's which is not too bad, but you should at least do something. and nyu gives horrible financial aid. tuition is the same for everyone, no matter what state your from. I think you have a slim chance, but apply and give it a chance, good luck.

totally agree with nyu44, you shouldnt take any pass fail classes (at least IMO) as a freshman, and the withdrawl definitely can't look too good. Just work hard and continue to improve for the next couple of quarters!

I'm also applying to NYU. Good luck to everyone.

Dreamer121, do you know anything about Stern and its expected transfer rate? Any information is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Someone convince me to apply to NYU (:

2e41-why does anyone have to convince you to transfer to nyu. If you want to transfer its your choice.

Hey guys, I'm applying to NYU for the fall. I'm pretty much done with my application, but both my teachers will be mailing in my rec letters around Mid-February. Should I wait around then before submitting my app or does it not matter?

it doesnt matter. you can submit now. it would be more easier.

Who else is applying to Stern?

I'm sorry my internet sarcasm is so dim.

To be honest, each school has a different acceptance rate that brings the general one to 31%

Tisch and Stern take the least amount of transfers

CAS' acceptance is higher than Tisch and Stern

Gallatin and Steinhardt take the most amount of transfers

You should apply to the school you're interested in because you can not internally transfer, but it is helpful to know what you're up against.

NYU does give financial aid, but if you're parents are making 100k a year, dont expect a full ride....

In addition, depending on your living arrangement your cost of attendance can be as high as 56,000 or as low as 41,000

Their dorms rang e from 6500 to 21000 in cost of housing for one year..

The recession has overlooked benefits: higher transfer-admissions rate for expensive schools like NYU!

Okay, let me ask this again

For those of you that already sent their application, how long did it take NYU to validates your application. so how long does it take to get that fourth confirmation email?

I'm applying for Fall, but I don't know which school I need to apply. Could you guys check my thread?

dreamer121 - do you know the projected acceptance rate for Stern?

sixstring-I think mine took a week before i got the fourth email
