<p>To become THE ONE (male/female) Presidential Scholar for your state you must have very impressive credentials, which is what's going to get you the scholarships, not the honor in itself.</p>
<p>Hey guys. I'm submitting my application online over the next two days, and I had two pressing questions:</p>
<p>1) For the essay, they allow 10,800 characters. Is an 8,000 character essay okay? I assume so, I just don't know whether it's too short/long.</p>
<p>2) For the inspirational teacher, I'm torn between a teacher from another school and my college counselor, but I don't know whether the latter is even allowed. Another counselor at my school who is more familiar with the Pres. Sch. thing said that it would be fine if I put the counselor, but I don't want to be pushing it especially with the short answer... Any advice?</p>
