No. It was “to build”. idk why though.
The sentence was parallel in every grammatical sense.

simplifiy the sentece: i suggest to build a boat, i suggest building a boat, second obviously sound better

^it’s called grammar for a reason.

yeah feel no shame i’ll be happy with a 200. NJ curve sucks its so high. it should be a national cutoff. Why should someone from West Virginia with a 200 get nmsf over NJ with 220. (although i doubt WV even has any nmsf qualifiers) haha. im ohio 213 too high for me.

So “to build” was correct in that it’s the answer or that it’s grammatically correct?

And, there is no way that “explanation of” is grammatical. It has to be “explanation for”; I have completely convinced myself of this over the last month.

lol silverturtle apparently CB disagrees

yea silvert i was so sure explanation of was wrong, making it the correct answer

^Silverturtle: He meant that “to build” was the correct choice, and that it was to grammar mistake in the sentence.

“Silverturtle: He meant that “to build” was the correct choice, and that it was to grammar mistake in the sentence.”

I don’t agree, but I won’t argue; that what I put. :)

■■■ - resentment? really? – ugh

What do you mean you don’t agree?

anyone know other ambiguous cr something like “less important” vs “less impressive”. i hope i didn’t just make that up but idk.

When I picked “to build” as the answer, it was the result of a failure to rigorously apply grammatical rules; I went by sound. Ever since, I’ve been thinking that I was wrong.

Based on my research over the last month, I was convinced that “explanation of” indicated a description of an event or situation. “explanation for,” I thought, indicates why something occured. If I remember the context correctly, the latter definition is more fitting.

wait, was ‘to build’ grammatically incorrect, making it the right answer? or grammatically correct, making it a wrong answer?

Can anyone find a source that supports the College Board’s position on the “explanation of” question?

^^^^agree. i guess this test shows cb isn’t picky about prepositions since this and “at the center” were deemed correct.

Sorry… Are scores coming online or have you all gotten them from school?

^^^^ only a few people have gotton them and we’re all jealous.

So are they slowly releasing them online, or did they get them from school?

They got them from school. One needs the access code imprinted on the paper score report in order to access the scores online.
